I worked at WDM Group full-time for less than a year
Pros – Relaxed, young work environment, the line level employees always try to help each other. Occasionally there is some real positive energy and this helps with motivation and drive.
Cons – Constantly cycling through dead end leads or people who already have been offered the product at one point or another, for one. However the big problem is the product itself. These are not "leading industry publications" as I was told to refer to them as. If the businesses who are in that industry sector have never heard of them, why would they want to be featured and have their vendors buy ads? I was sick of feeling dishonest by quoting false circulation numbers that were fed to me by executives who couldn't possibly believe the numbers to be real.
Advice to Senior Management – Improve the content of the product and the circulation. The digital brochure product is terrific, probably the most valuable part of the package, but if the rest of the magazine content was better, more fluid and marketed better, maybe the product would be worth selling. Until then, I think this is a failure waiting to happen, to be honest.

I have been working at WDM Group full-time for more than a year
Pros – Considerable work has been accomplished in the past few month to restructure, re-organize and generally improve all aspects of this business (financially, operationally, personnel / human resources, and even the sales process).
Cons – There is still much to be done to tranform this business into the first-class organization it aims to be.
Advice to Senior Management – Stay the course and don't get distracted by the noise. If you can't change the people, then change the people...

I worked at WDM Group full-time for less than a year
Pros – You get to wear jeans to work? I suppose the work environment isn't the worst I've ever been in, as most of the employees are young and somewhat entertaining, but the way the employees are treated is atrocious. Crap, that was supposed to be a 'Pro', but that's all I got.
Cons – They basically pay you in happy hours, as stated above. I mean I did technically receive paychecks but the numbers on them were so few and small that I was basically just supporting my grooming habits each month. People are WAY overworked and I didn't meet a single person who respected the owners. Basically, it's a sales company and they have a completely unsustainable business model.
Advice to Senior Management – It will fall on deaf ears, I'm certain, but here goes: Stop treating people like microwaved cat diarrhea.

I have been working at WDM Group part-time for less than a year
Pros – It's very easy and you can watch tv shows all day.
Cons – Do you want to work in a place where you're rewriting mediocre articles about current events that people have already written? Do you want to be grossly underpaid and unable to move up or learn any new skills? Do you want to work under a business plan that is completely unsustainable? Than WDM Group is the place for you!
Advice to Senior Management – Treat your employees better. They're all planning on walking out on you.

I worked at WDM Group full-time for less than a year
Pros – Young and laid back, nice location, theoretically a decent network of b2b digital magazines and websites
Cons – Way too young (average age is probably around 25), little direction, little to no experience in key positions, fun at times but oppressive most of the time, their vision lacks some roots in reality and is a lot of smoke and mirrors, they are a tiny publisher with tiny traffic that is not valuable and are pricing their inventory way out of market
Advice to Senior Management – Stop spreading yourself so thin with way too many ventures and properties, consolidate talent and resources so you create better editorial resulting in higher quality traffic. Until then, price inventory accordingly.

I worked at WDM Group full-time for less than a year
Pros – Laid back, young and trendy enviro, good filler job
Cons – The CEO´s are shallow and have one priority above all: sales. This is nice for a sales company but they try to offer quality publications. With no training, no resources, low pay, amateur management, amateur employees, the whole thing is just stressful with sky-high expectations and absolutely NO care about their employees. They try to compensate all of their BS with happy hours. Not worth it.
Advice to Senior Management – Learn what quality journalism is and then TRAIN THE EMPLOYEES to do that. If you´re going to ask for 120% of people, give them at least a handshake and a "We´re happy to have you here". . . AT LEAST.
