    Pros

Positive work culture, and work/life balance is highly encouraged. Everyone has a strong sense of customer service. This company takes pride in being the little fish in a big pond of MSO's. They do put a lot of consideration into the hiring process and bring on quality professionals.

    Cons

There is no growth in this company. You will be hired into your position and that will be it. Pay is alright, generally even-with or slightly below industry standard. They do a 3% raise annually. You'll waste your breath asking for a promotion. As of 2015 they have removed all perks.

    Advice to Management

The biggest reason people leave WOW! Internet is due to lack of internal growth opportunity. They tend to ere on the side of hiring externally.

    Pros

awesome supervisors and leads, along with my fellow techs. Family type atmosphere locally.

    Cons

Upper Management has changed and that has really hurt the company. WOW! has become more of a corporate company, and is much more profit driven, and the corporate side of the company has become self centered and is about themselves. They no longer serve the employees they serve themselves.

    Cons

Company is slowly becoming profit driven rather than focusing on customers or employees.

    Pros

Get to use a company vehicle as your mobile office and also get to drive truck home at end of day. Employees get essentially free cable/internet service at home and the company provides a cell phone so it isn't completely necessary to have your own phone plan. Hours are fairly regular without having to work a ton of overtime in most cases so family time isn't lost. Local management is kind and will do what they can to help you out when needed.

    Cons

They don't really pay well for the work that is expected out of you and they change insurance providers/coverage seemingly every year and that makes it really difficult if you have a family. Also you will be expected to be on call for a week at a time to cover emergency calls which depending on your position may require you to be on call at most every third week. They pay you a premium for the days you are on call, but it also seems to be less than the industry standard. Corporate seems to be disconnected from the everyday employees.

    Advice to Management

My advice for management is to be more up front about things when it comes to company policy changes that affect the general worker.

    Pros

'Hire from within' culture (although slowly going by the wayside) allows you to move up internally. They tend to shy away from letting people go (with the exception of a recent significant company-wide layoff). There really are some good and talented people.

    Cons

'Hire from within' culture means people aren't as experienced/knowledgeable as they should be and you get paid substantially less than most other companies would pay for the same position. Refraining from letting people go means you're stuck working with colleagues that really should be let go. The friendly supportive culture has taken a dive over the past few years and it's now more of a catch phrase than a reality.

    Advice to Management

Don't bite off more than you can chew. Don't make knee-jerk reactions. Set realistic goals (budget and otherwise). Get rid of troublemakers.
