I worked at WYNIT, Inc. full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Ability to make good earnings if you were willing to work hard and put in the effort. Environment could be fun at times, but stressful at others

    Cons

Short sighted views of top level management lead to layoffs when the economy went south. Instead of investing in infrastructure when they could afford to, they chose to pay themselves first.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Plan for the long term with a vision. 30 day plans are not long term.

Medium size company with decent connections to major brands

    Cons

Upper management at the VP level was a group of micro managers and never did see the whole picture.

    Frustratingly stagnant

    I worked at WYNIT, Inc.

    Pros

Very nice people in the "rank and file", typical of the central New York area. Office conditions were better than normal, with tons of unused space.

    Cons

Alarming lack of outside experience among senior management. Several key execs have little or no experience with other companies or in other markets, leading to a very claustrophobic view of how things work in the "real" world outside of Syracuse.
Lack of ability to attract meaningful new lines to sell. Lack of vision as to the next big trend.
Absence of a specified career path coupled with stagnant salary growth is a big disincentive
Lack of candor in annual reviews and lack of feedback on a daily basis.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pull your heads out of the sand and understand how great companies become great... by hiring very smart people and giving them real incentive to achieve their maximum potential.
