    Pros

Wachovia was a great company to work for until Wells Fargo took over! The pay is okay and the benefits a great.

    Cons

SALES!!! SALES!!!! SALES!!! Wachovia used to focus on service but since Wells Fargo took over it's all about shoving products down customers throats!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your employees with respect. I always felt like I gave 110% but it was never enough for upper management.

    Pros

Good benifits 4 weeks of paid time off. Possible to move up. Good incentive program. Teach you what you need to know to move up.

    Cons

Micro-managed. On the phones for way to long. Work holidays and sat. Mangement needs to get on the same page.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Manangement need to get on the same page. Make work more interactive. Less micro managment and more macro managment. Clear about what needs to be accomplished to move up in company

    I worked at Wachovia

    Pros

Wachovia has great benefits, some good people to work with, some great customers, pay is okay, and training is efficient.

    Cons

Downsides at Wachovia include hard to move up unless you are a favorite, pay could be better, and you don't get much back in terms of yearly pay raises.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make good judgements on who you allow advance, sometimes there are other tellers saving others by picking up their slack so the branch runs more smoothly.

I have been working at Wachovia

    Pros

The job has nice benefits. It is a steady paycheck week to week. It offers a good amount of time off

    Cons

The job can be a little boring. Not something I would want to do for a long time. Again boring

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The leadership is fair. It communicates pretty well. Perhaps to many bosses to answer to. Need to trim the fat abit

    Pros

    Fortune 500 company and benefits

    Cons

never get time off bc everyone is seniority above you or there is a mtg. and your managers dont do crap they just push all pressure on you. every branch is different but generally working there sucks. many dont leave/quit because the pay is decent in this economy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

get a degree and learn to respect ee's they are you best assets

    I worked at Wachovia

    Pros

The friends youll make with the employees, relationships with the customers and the closing of sales for your deals.

    Cons

Unethical conduct by employees and sometimes certain management personel. Ranging from crossing certain boundaries to get the sales to flat out crimes. Also,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try not to get as bad as some of the other institutions in nickel and dimeing the customers. Also, tellers tend to be a low point it seems compared to other banks, on average.

    Pros

Great people and a very diverse group.

    Cons

Once your inside, getting to the next level proves difficult even when you meet all the qualifications and have the education.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more open to current staff who meets and obviously would excell in other positions.

I have been working at Wachovia

    Pros

Great work-life balance. Being on the sales end of jobs allows for more control of your work schedule. As long as sales goals are met you can dictate how many hours you are putting in. If you're in a good branch with a good FCM, it's much easier to meet and exceed sales goals.

    Cons

Illogical sales deadlines. Communication from the top could be better. Trying something completely new when regular system already works. Each year they raise the incentive requirements. Sometimes it doesn't feel like senior management has a good handle on the local market and they expect you to surpass goals even if it's not realistic.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If a system isn't broke, don't fix it.

I have been working at Wachovia

    Pros

Good benefits, consistent communication from senior management on the status of the company.

    Cons

No apparent career opportunities. Everything is on hold pending the Wells Fargo merger.

The company has a very short term focus. It's only about making the numbers this quarter. Never about making a business plan and staying with it long term. Never about building for the future and developing people for the future.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value employees at least as much as you value shareholders. When employees are treated as though they are expendable, they will have no commitment to their work.

    I worked at Wachovia

    Pros

I thought the atmosphere was very enjoyable, it all depends on what exactly you're job entails bc sometimes the job can be very boring but i have found my coworkers to be nice and enjoyable to talk to which makes up for the monotony I have found my managers to be very nice and have tried to compliment when you are working hard and exceeding expectations. If you work hard, others will notice.

    Cons

it can be boring sometimes it seems like you are doing the same monotonous work over and over, but it depends on your job title. I was only a temporary employee so i was not privy to the same type of work environment that a full time regular employee might experience, however, the only difference i can see is it possibly being more tedious work such as greeting guest which can get annoying and make the day go on forever.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be friendly and give positive feedback when possible, it makes for a very great environment.
