    Pros

    I enjoy the teamwork and the variety in the work day.

    Cons

    This is not a perfect company, but I have no cons presently. I have learned if you don't have nothing good to say, then say nothing at all.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Employees as well as management are two parts to getting the job done. Stay focused on working together for the common goal, not isolating into separate entities.

    THE BEST I CAN SAY ABOUT WACKENHUT IS THAT YOUR GIVEN A LITTLE PAYCHECK.

    The employee never really know what's going to happen on the job.

    Management at Wackenhut should let employee in on hours she's going to work, where, ect.

    This was an important service provided to the US department of Energy for the protection and security of the site location. This was an important managerial position.

    Cons

    I do not have any negative issues involved with this employment opportunity.

    Pros

    Easy to get hired. Great orientation for newbies brings high morale when they start. You feel that you will be a part of a first class team. But that's where it stops. . .

    Cons

    Arrogant people they hire for their leadership positions; while they have a good pool of qualified applicants, alongside, they also hire the worst of the worst for their security positions. During the orientation, the presenter BRAGGED about how big Wackenhut it. Bad reputation within the security industry because of the "take anybody" approach in their hiring. While I was an employee, I saw on NBC news a less-than-flattering account of their nuke plant security program where they caught guards asleep! I don't usually believe everything I see on network news, but as one who was an insider of Wackenhut, that struck close to home as I saw the quality of people they hired.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    You want to have a high class company? Stop hiring "just anybody." Raise the standards on all the people you take in and enforce them when hired. You can't have arrogant people in your project management positions and have security officers who are clueless once they take their posts. The client at my last site was less than happy with the new security officers that had come in.

    Good benefits, union, pay, only work 14 days a month. 48/36 schedule.

    Cons

    12 hour shifts, management not aligned with policies and procedures

    Pros

    Salary is decent. Job itself is not very stressful.

    Cons

    Management does not care about staff. Morale is extremely low. Supervisors play games with the work schedules and favoritism runs rampant.

    Treat employees more fairly. WSI corporate office in Florida needs to intervene.

    Pros

    The company has some of the best assignments in the city. This is a great company to work for if you are ex-military or retired polce.

    Cons

    The company has too many supervisors but not enough workers, so workers are occasionally asked to work extra hours above 8 hours.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Please closely monitor the number of hours worked in a two to three day spand. I've known of instances where employees have worked 16 hour days for several days in a row.

    Pros

    Worked 3 days a week for 45 hours, so I had 4 days off per week which was nice. 15 hour shift was sometimes very long, but was very nice to have 4 days off.

    Cons

    Management seemed disorganized and unreliable at times.

    Have better organization for middle management. Institute better and more modern uniforms.

    Pros

    Job are easily attainable with the company. You can move up quickly if you have a willigness to work and have good credientials.

    Cons

    The hours are demanding. Not a good company to work for as sallary in a midle management position. Better to be a site suppervisor of a good contract or a district manager, however midle management does all the work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Send out more surveys to middle management on how to better improvise operations and efficiancy. Give support to the office staff. Remember bottom line is important but achieved thru the susess of the offices structure.
