I worked at WalMart Canada full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It was close to home, friends/family also worked there. I have to write twenty words here but just writing those 10 was a stretch.

    Cons

Terrible management, associates quitting left and right, under paid, over worked, having to do our job along with part of the day crews job because they were useless.

    Advice to Management

Bring in actual managers. Don't select an employee, give them some papers to read and call them management with no training.

I have been working at WalMart Canada part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

10% Discount. some people are nice to work with.

    Cons

lots of favourtism new people come in and they get the good shifts and the older ones who they don't care for get nights all the time. they say open door policy bull.the store i work at favours one person cause she pushes the walmart card until customer is screaming , and also lies its a credit card. management don't care there have been several complaints about her managerment don't care. the same person yelled at me twice once in front of customer , i asked to be moved away from her they say know. she basically runs the show. well in my eyes its harrassement i will be pushing this further. i have bad anxiety thats why i asked to be moved. i said well i am leaving then, they said fine . no respect for employees.

    Advice to Management

don't favour employess just to get the hugh bonus checks at the end of the year, because some get more credit cards than others so wrong.

I have been working at WalMart Canada full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours most of time. You can ask for more hours as they seem to be short of people most of time. You will get 10% discount so if you spend $200 in a month then you can save $20 in that month.

    Cons

They will make you unload the truck, do zoning and help customers, treat you as donkeys, too much to do in too little time and if you so all that management is gonna unhappy still. Every now and then have to deal with unhappy customers Salary is bare minimum

I worked at WalMart Canada full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of great people work there and they are very friendly. Many assistant managers really care about their associates and work along side them.

    Cons

Expectations are unrealistic Discrimination against women No work life balance

    Advice to Management

Sometimes the problem store is the result of a problem store manager. It's important to dig deeper to discover the real problem because the store management will go a long way to cover things up before canstar and hr audits. Look at things like the difference in pay between recent female hires and recent male hires.

I have been working at WalMart Canada full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nice interactive environment and chance to work with customers all the time which helps to build up your confidence.

    Cons

"MONEY". Walmart doesn't pay as per your expectations. (quite lower than of other employers for the same kind of job)

    Advice to Management

The management should increase the pay of the employees and with the promotions there has to be a good raise.

Do not care about their employees, just care about lining the pockets for management.

I worked at WalMart Canada part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There are some very hard working employees. Like meeting people.

    Cons

Does not support or care for employees, just get the work done. The stakeholders bonus has dropped substantially. I was there for 10 years, they don't try to keep the good ones.

    Advice to Management

Look at the problem and address it, hard to have a good business if the employees r not happy. Too bad the company doesn't train the person for management position, instead of just accepting them for that. The open door policy is a joke!!!!! The department manager just made the environment worse to work in once I addressed a problem.

I have been working at WalMart Canada full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Getting job is easy. Flexible schedule. Discount on purchases from walmart. You can take leave without informing and they are going to arrange another person in place of you. :-)

    Cons

No concept of managment. Never make an employee permanent even after probationary period. No value for good work and no fine or coaching for bad work. If you can make them fool, you are gold. Unlimited work for entire shift hours, no slow time, always speed. And if you have less work, you cant get it easy because they are going to make sure next time you have so much work you cant breath during shift...

    Advice to Management

Dont give supervisors all authority. Make employee permanent after probationary period, atleast full time employees who work hard daily.
