I worked at Waldbaum part-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Great schedule flexibility and also great friends that you meet that work at waldbaums

    Cons

There is no advancement since the company has been going down the tubes, or if you know someone in management really well you might have a shot of climbing up the ladder. You have no chance at getting full time there because I do not think they they will last in the next 5 years with all of the stores closing down.Management has no regards to their employees in their safety. A good example is when it starts to have a snowstorm outside and it gets dangerous outside to drive they will still keep the store open just for the possibility to having customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

. Treat your employee's like actual human beings not another number!!!

I have been working at Waldbaum (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Responsibility, benefits ..friendly coworkers..clean store. Helpful staff. Great career experience. Stores seem to be improving.

    Cons

Sub par pay, micro management from corporate. I hope to see the company do better in the next few years..

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Actually lower the prices.. don't just say you did.. let the managers manage specific to the area they are in... listen to your workers. . and see the company get back to the top of the supermarket business. Get back to volume sales and not high mark ups.

I have been working at Waldbaum full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Flexible hours, vacation and sick time. Good group of coworkers

    Cons

Company is always in financial strain. I was laid off due to store closures. Management tends to micro manage and some will always want their way regardless of right or wrong. Management takes all decision making skills away.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop wasteful spending and get back to the basics of selling groceries. Don't make it a major ordeal, just provide great service, good prices and clean stores.
