I worked at Waldorf Astoria full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great place to learn, strong name to have on your resume and competitive salary (Managers start @ $50K and can easily progress to $60K). Awesome mentorship opportunities and a real fun challenge if you're up for it.

    Cons

Super long hours, very fast paced and stripped down staff-to-guest ratio at every level of the organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Trust in managers to make decisions, less micromanaging.

I have been working at Waldorf Astoria

    Pros

If tou do not wish to learn, be respected, given a raise, have your managers support then its perfect.at the hotel they pride themselves on being five star and open door policies, and good benefits, if you like walking contradictions I say go for it.

    Cons

No communication. I have to say this there are two capable very reliable trustworthy manager in my department. This two alone almost make up for our chef and sous chef. This job is not a matter of skill but more based on gender, age, and how much you stroke the egos of your elders.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try communicating, less gossip, no insults, and having your employees backs. You do nothing alone. Try team building activities. Or for starters try showing up to tour own department meetings.

I worked at Waldorf Astoria part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

I was just arrived in London and I found this job opportunity very soon. The head housekeeper mailed me to arrange an interview the day after. The interview was very simple.

    Cons

During the interview the manager told me they were looking for a part-time or full-time room attendant, I was looking for a part-time job, so I accepted. But every day they gave me 2 more rooms, so every day I spent more time cleaning rooms. It was too much for me and I quit.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They can be much friendly with all the staffs without keeping a distance with some staffs.
