I have been working at Walgreens full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Pros:
1, one on one customer service. having the power to make a customer happy and healthy is awesome, and knowing after you help that customer they will come back to the store because of your excellent service is a great feeling
    2. as a shift lead I have enough power to design my own work for the week; setting goals that you want accomplished and seeing them through. upper management wants to see you excel and learn
    3. Upper management is understanding and very tight nit, communication amongst us is awesome
SO many more but that is enough

    Cons

    1. Pay isn't awesome
    2. Overtime isn't allowed.
    3. Not enough hours in the budget for the amount of foot traffic throughout the store
    4. Dealing with angry customers is always a bummer, a manager being paged is 99% of the time either to fix a mistake over pricing OR a complaint

I have been working at Walgreens

    Pros

the company is very honest and lives by a set of cultural beliefs. At work I feel like I'm helping people and that i have a purpose

    Cons

You must be willing to work holidays and not have a set schedule. You can work any time on any day. You never know what days you will have off or what shift you will be working. It changes schedule to schedule. The only employees with set schedules are depertment leads (but not always) and the store manager

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Develop and distribute to all stores a standard plan to provide E.C.C. (extraordinary customer care) to our customers while at the same time still be able to execute our day to day tasks. Most employees feel the pressure of providing ECC but in doing so their tasks are not being completed which in turn causes an issue with your store manager in terms of performance. Every employee i know struggles with this every day. Especially when working in a high volume store providing ECC and getting all of your tasks completed is somewhat unrealistic. I would like to tell upper management that many employees are frustrated by this because they do want to provide ECC 100% and also get all of their work done, however Their finding it very impractical to execute this in our stres on a day to day basis
