I have been working at Walgreens part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours, frequent opportunities to pick up extra shifts, allows techs attending college to remain employed, good pay the low pre-employment requirements (must be 18 is pretty much it), and offers training to techs that want to become certified.

    Cons

Corporate management doesn't seem to care about the cornerstones of the company. Ex. refuses to adjust hours in the winter to accommodate for the increase in patients makes it nigh impossible for the technicians and pharmacists to maintain the level of customer care that we provide during the rest of the year. Taking a little extra time to serve patients well is important.

I have been working at Walgreens

    Pros

The ability to help someone make the right decision about make-up. I loved to work in the company. The environment was safe and friendly. My store manager Angela Driver was very friendly and helpful, always smiled and made it easy to work with her.

    Cons

The misunderstanding of coupons and cashier checks. Having to explain to the customer that the coupon may have expired or that it cant be used twice. Overall the pros outweigh the cons. This was a great place to be employed

I have been working at Walgreens full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Everyone for the most part gets along and has the understanding that we have one goal - to get the customer taken care of. Of course, everyone has their stress moments (especially during flu shot season and beginning of the year with insurance changes) but we keep the mood light and try to be helpful.

    Cons

Store managers not really applying potential of some good people to become certified techs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the pharmacy manager, she knows what we need daily or weekly, no your floor staff!
