I worked at Walgreens part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Friendly co-workers and easy business plan. Wasn't a whole lot of surprises so work was simple. The clock in system was nice and the work schedules were posted well in advance.

    Cons

Moving up in the company is almost impossible. There is not a set of company values.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Visit more stores and make sure that career opportunities are available for each position.

I worked at Walgreens full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I worked at the Distribution Center, and I was very pleased with the pay, work, and work environment.

    Cons

I had to maintain great hand-to-eye coordination as a Split-Case Picker.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I actually enjoyed everything about the management, with the exception of the HR team's decision to fire me after my Mom passed away, and I had asked for an extension on my bereavement, but the Distribution Center Manager at the time denied my request due to the "need of the business". Also, it's important to mention that I had been there for a little over 3 years and they would not be understanding towards my personal situation.

I have been working at Walgreens as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Great staff. superior technology, excellent customer service, great benefits.

    Cons

The pharmacy can really get busy. Without enough techs to even out the workload, it feels like you are running a 10k every day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in more pharmacy technicians to balance the workload and improve efficiency. Not only will the employees be less stressed, but the patients will reap the rewards as well. Fresh pharmacy staff reduces errors and improves customer service.
