    Pros

Always have hours. I got to choose when I work. Work 4 10 hour shifts no weekends.

    Cons

A lot of employees don't care about their job. People call in sick a lot. There is a lot of turnover.

    Advice to Management

Pay a little better to reduce turnover. I wish they knew that the customer is not always right.

    Pros

Store managers are usually willing to work around a schedule for another job.

    Cons

Managers want the most out of every employee. Meaning that they will expect you to go above and beyond what you were hired for and still pay you minimum wage. Shift managers will assign you tasks so that they don't have to do them. Example: cleaning the bathroom

    Pros

Good pay if in management. promotions from within, easy to transfer to other locations. Many locations to choose from. Great 401k.

    Cons

Must be willing to sacrifice family time to get ahead if you are in management. Low payroll hours. Short staff in pharmacies. Good luck getting full time hours.

    Advice to Management

Find other way to cut expenses at store level than payroll hours. Find a way to get people a work life balance. Should not frowned upon if asking for a day off to be with family.

    Pros

Slight employee discount? Also, you could earn PTO, but as a part-timer, it took forever to even accumulate a day. Something like one earned hour off for every 24 you worked. The pay was pretty good starting, too. $8/hr starting cashier. Pharmacy cashiers about $9. Tech trainees I think around $13-$14

    Cons

The coworkers in the entire store were usually older. maybe 30+ going to 40+. All of th females behaved catty and cliquey, and I was disgusted by the way women in their mid-life years could gossip and trash talk others when they would assume a situation. I had to correct on more than one occasion because a customer was rude and complained about my "behavior" when I in fact tried everything I could and apologized profusely if something could not be done (i.e. insurance). Customers are never greatful and will always fight you. The hours are god-awful. The management is disorganized.

    Advice to Management

Keep a closer eye on your employees, and get full stories. Hire people after doing a throrough check on why they left their previous area of employment for a nowhere pharmacy retail shift lead position when they are in their 40's.

    Pros

SALARY. Great immediate supervision. Lots of overtime and perks.

    Cons

Everything boils down the the dollar. You know what that means

    Advice to Management

Compare the amount of workers of other labs to that of the lab. Tremndous volume of samples being digested and would love to have a little more help in terms of man power availability

    Pros

Basic job, not very hard. The cosmetics department was by far the best area to work. You had freedom and creativity. I worked there for a year as a beauty advisor before I was promoted as SBA. Got paid decent money, especially for the easy work. You also get a 15% discount on everything and 25% if it is a brand owned by walgreens. There was a high turn over rate but generally the people I worked with were easy to get along with.

    Cons

Working a lot of 11-7 and weekends

    Advice to Management

don't pick favorites. If a rule allies to one person it should also apply to everyone else.

    Cons

really long hours and no work/life balance. Seasonal work get to be really long and limited time off during retail holidays

    Advice to Management

keep hours in the stores where thy belong. we are making the money take care of us
