I worked at Walgreens as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Loved working at Walgreens corporate in their eCommerce design department. The work is fast-paced, interesting, and fun.

    Cons

Attrition. It's a big problem because they don't convert people to full-time employees. So good people who are doing good work come and go at such a clip that management is constantly in job interviews, keeping them from being available to tend to the core business. Very frustrating.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

INVEST IN YOUR TALENT! You're spending so much time and money handling your attrition in order to keep from having that headcount on your payroll that other more important things are suffering. Stop stepping over a dollar to pick up a dime.

I worked at Walgreens part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Everyone was friendly, I didn't feel like I was being looked down at from higher management, everyone was an equal. Management was not afraid to step onto the floor to help an employee or a customer when needed. Definitely a great working environment!

    Cons

Nothing that I've noted to deter my opinions about the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up with the employee/customer relation, it gives those who are looking to management for advice a lot more ease when addressing issues within the store.

I worked at Walgreens part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I worked in the pharmacy which was constantly busy. Therefore, the hours went by very quickly.

    Cons

Terrible management. People would quit and management would hire them back though they were terrible workers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Know the value of your employee and when to keep them and when to let them go

I have been working at Walgreens full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

It beats manual labor or being a prostitute I guess. But you make better money as a prostitute

    Cons

I work in the pharmacy and the customers all treat you like garbage. If you're ok with being degraded all day then I guess this is a good choice for you.... currently seeking a career change.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire some managers that aren't complete and total dipshits and that aren't just corporate puppets. I'm sure that's too much to ask.

I have been working at Walgreens full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The prescriptions for employees are excellent prices. And it used to a great place to work now they have you slaving all day and cutting back positions and giving more and more work!

    Cons

This company is getting worse and worse as time goes by! When I first started it was a family company and we had great insurance and benefits. Now they have created a huge mess switching to PTO. They took days away from us, the insurance is crap! And all they care about is flu shots, raise, zostavax and just the numbers! They have deviated from being an excellent pharmacy and now patients have to wait in huge lines! They want good customer service but cut back on budget hours! No help!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get back to basics and remain a PHARMACY stop being worried at trying to be the first at everything and not being the best! Show more employee appreciation we are soo overworked and underpaid
