I have been working at Walgreens full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Pros:
1, one on one customer service. having the power to make a customer happy and healthy is awesome, and knowing after you help that customer they will come back to the store because of your excellent service is a great feeling
    2. as a shift lead I have enough power to design my own work for the week; setting goals that you want accomplished and seeing them through. upper management wants to see you excel and learn
    3. Upper management is understanding and very tight nit, communication amongst us is awesome
SO many more but that is enough

    Cons

    1. Pay isn't awesome
    2. Overtime isn't allowed.
    3. Not enough hours in the budget for the amount of foot traffic throughout the store
    4. Dealing with angry customers is always a bummer, a manager being paged is 99% of the time either to fix a mistake over pricing OR a complaint

I have been working at Walgreens full-time

    Pros

The company will work around your school schedule if you need them too. The company really is exceptional at providing customer service.

    Cons

Customers can sometimes be difficult to serve. sometimes management on the same shift will be on different pages and you could be told to do different things from different managers and it can get confusing which job you should complete first when this happens.

Rude customers, sad financial compensation, and an out of touch corporate office makes for an exhausting experience.

I have been working at Walgreens full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Every now and then you will bond with a customer that appreciates your service. Co-workers are kind

    Cons

Bad pay range, entirely uncompetitive. Hours are cut about 60% during the summer months.

I have been working at Walgreens

    Pros

benefits, flexible hours, and good discount,

    Cons

stressful. constantly adding and subtracting , never satisfied

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Go easy on the welcoming and be well! yes it's nice to say it for our customers, however just because i miss 1 or 2 people does not mean that i don't say it, the pressure you put on the floor people over ecc makes it harder to help customers.
Wish Walgreens appreciated our work, instead of constantly spying on us and trying to get us fired for not saying welcome and be well. I am a hard worker yet no matter how good i am if i don't say welcome and be well to the right person i get threaten to get fired. this company has changed a lot, which they could make up their mind on what is expected of team members.
as for management i have worked with awesome managers i'm sadden to see many of them leaving due to the sudden restructure. the new management that has come in is clueless, i find myself having to constantly help them which it isnt fair, they are in a higher position than me they are supposed to know more.

I worked at Walgreens full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Fairly laid back place. Managers were decent and fair.

    Cons

Retail sucks. Terrible hours, management is forced to side with customers even when they're being dumb, not enough pay. It'll test your patience.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The customer is not always right.
