I have been working at Walgreens

    Pros

The people are really great. They've taken time to train me very well. The pay is good, and they are good about making sure we get breaks, etc.

    Cons

I'm not crazy about working late in the evening.

I have been working at Walgreens

    Pros

    Vacation Time
    Health Care Benefits
    Paid Holidays
    Easy to Move Up
    Employee Discount
    Flexible Schedules

    Cons

Not enough hours leave us short handed often.
Upper management pressures us to do too much.
    Too many lazy, incompetent employees.
    Have to work Christmas/Thanksgiving

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

We really need more hours for the pharmacy. We can't fully help all of our customers if the managers have to go help the lone pharmacist in the pharmacy and leave the two front end employees to fend for themselves.

I have been working at Walgreens full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Working in Consumer Relations is a great dept, you have the opportunity to work with other areas in the company. There are excellent benefits working here.

    Cons

Their attendance policy across the CCO needs to be revamped. In todays market having a very strict attendance policy puts too much emphasis on " just be here", accruing points and unnecessary stress. This dept has been treated like a call center, which in fact we do take some calls but for the most part this job could be completed at home.

    I worked at Walgreens

    Pros

I really loved that the company is student friendly. I felt the store manager was fair. If you worked well, he gave you more hours, if you didn't well then he gave the extra hours to people who worked for them and wanted the hours. You can move up in positions if you want to a certain extent. I believe you need some college to get to store manager level.

    Cons

No major challenges. I did notice Walgreens doesn't like to let go of workers that don't a good job (to say the least). They basically give them as little hours as possible or move them to a location that is too far for them. This didn't affect me except for picking up the slack for these workers but not necessarily a con for the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep hiring experience managers that have good interpersonal skills.
