    Pros

Great mobility if you start at the bottom and work hard. Great work-life balance

    Cons

Extremely bureaucratic and political. Change is like steering the titanic because of all the layers, teams, and red tape involved.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Encourage more of an entrepreneurial spirit and encourage risk taking.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Get to work with many experienced associates, pay is great, and you arent ever gonna get fired unless you do something incredibly stupid, like steal equipment or sell information

    Cons

This company is really big, and really old, and so that means there are many old ways of doing things that need to be changed, but it takes a long time to turn the big ship. And there are so many specialists and so much data, but not always the best organization which can lead to many inefficiencies and frustrations.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There are just way too many of you

I worked at Walmart part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

It's a great job to have while going to school because they really work with you on your schedule and your class days.

    Cons

If you do it as a part- time like myself, you will most likely be working on weekends or during busy hours. This is very tiring and leaves little to no time for family.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Schedule more cashiers on Friday night and weekends.

    I worked at Walmart full-time

    Pros

    - Opportunities to gain experience working with large scale, enterprise level tools and technologies.
    - Company culture is focused on respect and achievement, which is taken very seriously. Great culture for those want to work in a professional, respectful environment.
    - Free training is available for a wide range of work related topics, from development classes to leadership training.

    Cons

    - Expected to be present in the office for a minimum 45 hour work week, which might be good for some non-technologists.
    - "Agile" environment consist of a lot of background noise in an open space environment. Not ideal for developers whose tasks consist of actual concentration on coding.
    - Very conservative environment. Plays FOX news on almost every TV in every breakroom and cafeterias.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Full time benefits. The associates are great to work with. Walmart family is pretty awesome. It's a good place to get started if you been down and out of a job.

    Cons

Too many Chefs not enough Indians. Management is givin so much to do with less sales associates to do it. Hiring less and less people to help run the store.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to hire more associates. The more u don't hire worse it's gonna get. Quit being so cheep!!!

Great people, great customers in the Walmart in North Littlerock, Ar. Give great hours, and work with your schedule and availability. Absolutely loved the people I worked with as well.

    Cons

I didn't have any issues or complaints while working at Walmart. But when I left the state and tried to get in other several Walmarts, I COULDN'T get in one. They don't do application status checks, so I couldn't do my normal call and check.
