I have been working at Walmart part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Pay. Quarterly Bonuses. I have worked at different locations under different management. It's really like the luck of the draw. 2 out of 4 managers have been real headaches.

    Cons

It's Walmart. Regardless of pay or etc it's still Walmart. Which can be crappy. They can just change your status from FT to PT whenever you like. Managers may do this in order to get a bigger bonus.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great valley energy with numerous smart alums from strong SV companies.

    Cons

Understand how much of a hit you'll take on Healthcare costs when negotiating salary. The rude awakening I've experienced in leaving a premium SV plan and spending thousands more out of pocket and fighting for every prescription or benefit almost can't be compensated for. We're told they're working on better plans but the additional healthcare spend keeps ratcheting up.

    I worked at Walmart part-time

    Pros

The people you work with are for the most part very friendly. You are forced to have some sort of break every two hours. The orientation long but paid for.

    Cons

They first start you off with so many hours and then all of sudden you work only 20 hours. You are constantly asked to do many things at once and most of the time they don't teach you how to do your job.

    Advice to Management

Start remembering names and treat everyone the same. Make the new employees feel welcomed and not like idiots. Also teach them the basics it is not easy especially for people who are barely coming to the job.
