I worked at Walmart part-time for more than a year

    Pros

There aren't any that come to mind

    Cons

Management is hardly ever qualified to do anything but bark orders. I have never seen anyone in management actually do any work with customers and instead opt to chat with each other in the back room.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Hire higher quality managers.

I worked at Walmart full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Very few.
They will hire anyone off the street.
They are lenient on the attendance policy especially if you are a single parent or if you are the only one in your home working.

    Cons

I worked at 3 different Walmarts over 5 years (transfers).
They do not care about your home life, their attitude is that Walmart is the only life you have. I was actually told this by a manager after asking for a personal day that I was entitled to.
They pick their favorites for promotions. If youre not a brown-noser, forget it.
I was told after an ice storm that if I didnt come into work I was fired. They basically told me to risk making my 3 children orphans for $5.65 an hour.
When I quit, out of the $3500 profit sharing I was entitled to, I only got half.
I was never allowed to use any of the 200 sick hours I had accumulated.
When bonus time came, 99% of the time, management got 6 figure bonuses while the "peons" got nothing.
Was forced to work til 430 am on a night before I was scheduled to start work at 7 am.
Worked 8 hours with only 1 15 minute break because I was only on the schedule for 4.
I have many more but I am tired of typing.

    Cons

Hard to get job with the company as a member of management unless you already know someone that is currently working there who can help you get a job
