    Pros

After you reach 600 hours or 6 months (i think) you qualify for the quarterly bonus checks. However, how your manager runs their store is directly related to how much you get. (Does he pay new hires more? Then bonus check is less.)

    Cons

The discount card only works on produce, pop, and chips for food. Only way to get hours is to have open availability. Management blames the "computer" who makes the schedule. Because man has not managed to conquer those you known.

    Advice to Management

Stop drinking the kool aid and towing the party line. Just because we are willing to work for low wages does not mean we are stupid! Take time to actually look at who is working in your department for promotion. In my store the only way to get promoted is to literally track down management and tell them REPEATEDLY people like me who just do a good job and don't feel comfortable chasing you get passed over. EVERY TIME!

    Pros

Easy job to get and easy to work your way up.

    Cons

Scheduling and hours fluctuate and never consistent. Management is not realistic and often goes against store policy to please a customer.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees or associates and maybe you won't have a high turnover rate. Stick to the policy, isn't that what they are there for?

    Pros

Benefits, discounts, experience, making customers happy. The experience you get from being a manager sets you up for a better position in the future!!!

    Cons

The pay is no where near where it should be for this company! For the amount of hours and stress a salaried manager goes through, they should start at more that $38,500!!!

    Pros

Just my experience. Management has been fair, hours usually predictable, always been able to get 40 but have had difficulty reducing my hours. Went from a desk job and lost 30 lbs. Build up enough sick time and they add to personal time instead - nice benefit. Medical coverage much better than naysayers would have you believe. $100 copay on $100,000 hospitalization. Show the right attitude and ability and you can move up.

    Cons

Starting pay is lousey. The initiative to take it to a minimum of $10 is not enough. At 15 years I am at $15 but awfully glad that I do not have to raise kids.

    Advice to Management

Follow through for crying out loud. This is both store and upper management. Amazing the number of things that were announced with hoopla and just died.
