    Pros

Great family atmosphere and wonderful fellow employees. They made it super easy to get started.

    Cons

Not everyone there wanted to make an impact on the Wal-Mart brand and sad to say some of those people were upper level management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

Ok pay for a starter job. Flexible shifts.

    Cons

You pretty much never get to 40 hrs. a week, and management can sometimes be very poor.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your most valued workers. They are the driving force of the corporation, and your bonuses.

    Pros

The best thing about working for walmart is the benefits and the bonuses we get every 3 months

    Cons

You can challenge yourself by learning where everything is inside the store. And most holidays should be spent with families instead they make you work

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would like to share advice with upper management is the management in my location doesn't seem like management at all and they don't appreciate all that hard work we do. All besides Mrs Ann orrington and Mr Chris Dietrich.

I have been working at Walmart

    Pros

Good leadership structure. The flow of leadership is good. see comment below on how they react to this chain of leadership. Rule by fear is the ultimate outcome. do this or you will lose your job. a simple explanation would be better in understanding the why.

    Cons

micromanagement at its finest. The next level managers are scared for their jobs so they micromanage everything they can. This creates friction between store and market level associates.

I have been working at Walmart

    Pros

I work on the grocery side which is the busiest side. If your're not lazy and don't have a problem getting work done like you should, then always being busy is a good thing. There is always something to do. If you want to move up it's not always very difficult. You just have to show that you are a hard working, friendly, and don't complain.

    Cons

There is too much favoritism and management is not the greatest. Some managers are alright but there are some that are just terrible and unprofessional. Also there are so many bad associates who just hate their jobs and their lives. All they do is complain about work. That's why I wrote that the job is what you make it. If you remain positive, friendly, helpful, and do your work things should be okay. The associates and management can be frustrating but there are still good people there that are a joy to work with. I do agree with others that say that management does not care about the employees. All they care about it the business. It's all about business, keep that in mind.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

You get a quarterly bonus if your store sales are high with no accidents.

    Cons

Hours are cut low after Christmas sales until March or April of the next year.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Since this is a global company, try to base your pay higher so that the new hires would want to stay.
