I have been working at Walmart part-time for less than a year

    Pros

There are multiple job openings, friendly coworkers, and good benefits if you stay with the company long enough.

    Cons

Goals for hourly employees are unrealistic, too much work is expected of a single employee. Management is rather harsh and very direct. They do not work together to plan out what needs to be done throughout the day. You will be told to do one thing by one manager then subsequently a different thing by another manager. schedules are planned out for 3 weeks in advance so if you need any reduced hours or days off you don't have time to put them in unless you have seriously planned ahead. Do NOT recommend,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Use better planning and understand that not every employee is Superman or Wonder Woman. We can only handle so much.

    Pros

Great coworkers, friendly environment, fun to work with friends. Flexible scheduling most of the time. Lenient with minor issues most of the time.

    Cons

Management does not communicate well, favoritism is present at times. Unsupportive to some lower management and supervisors. Management can be lazy at times and not helpful to associates.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More communication, more appreciation for all associates, less favoritism.

I worked at Walmart full-time for less than a year

    Pros

If you showed an interest in learning and desire to stay busy, Management treated me very well; received several pay raises as well as offering me full time employment. Also considered me for a manager's position.

    Cons

On your feet all day and some days were very slow. Lot of my coworkers were not interested in helping out in other departments but my philosophy is it makes the day go by faster and you are constantly learning.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management got me involved in other departments; unloading trucks, doing inventory, stocking shelves and besides I was interested and wanted to learn. Would work with management every day to see what extra jobs they needed me to do.

I worked at Walmart full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I worked for this company for about a year, and I cannot think of any pros other than it was the constant, demeaning nature of this work that sent me RUNNING back to college to get my Bachelors.

    Cons

Demeaning work, customers constantly assuming that you're stupid because you work there, and managers yelling at you for 20-30 minutes at a time because of their own insecurities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your employees more instead of investing millions of dollars in pointless art projects so that you can "give back to the community." We all know that that was a bad PR attempt to divert attention from the fact that you treat your employees little better than slave labor.
