I have been working at Walmart

    Pros

Great company with great values but more importantly they will give you the opportunity to think outside the box to be successful.

    Cons

Hiring new employees can be difficult because corporate dictates when and how many can be hired and based on revenue you can find yourself with just one person in an entire department.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to work hard and take care of your people.

I worked at Walmart full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

There is definitely plenty to do.....

    Cons

with all of the pre training videos pushing safety and only using our own store issued box cutter, I expected to get one. Never happened! I worked there for 3 weeks, kept asking, and was told that the "new" staff don't get one, only the staff that has been there forever.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When you hire someone one and promise them to work with their schedule of their other job, don't go back on that promise, and don't get an attitude when they come to you to ask about it!

I have been working at Walmart full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

One of the top salaries in the area.

    Cons

You are worked like they know they are the best in the area. Same work in a more populated area would pay much more. You are replaceable and they know it, and they let you know it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to your associates, many (at the very top) forget that without them there is no you.

I have been working at Walmart part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Workmates and CSMs are awesome. Other than that, nothing especial.

    Cons

Super long lines with limited counters open, low pay, takes forever to be eligible for benefits.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There should be employee meetings at least quarterly to gain insights from the front liners and even the workers from the back operations.

I have been working at Walmart part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Hour lunch break; PTO after 6 months

    Cons

Constant schedule changes. Hours are cut after peak season. We have sooo much reshop to sort and also have to run it! Small 10% discount, which comes after 90 days.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Evaluate your policies! Why should the cashiers run the reshop? Is that not a stockers job? Why are we doing everyone else's job, yet no one helps us?
