    Pros

Amazing chance to make life better for people that really need it, all around the world. Resources and backing of the world's largest retailer. A chance to make a difference in ecommerce.

    Cons

Walmart is way, way behind Amazon in ecommerce and doesn't seem to want to spend the money to catch up. Constant changes of leadership make it feel a little like the Hunger Games. Which is great if you're on the "winning" project and deadly if you're not.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There are huge cults of personality things going on. Good luck...

    Pros

Chill environment; jeans all week! As long as you get your work done, you're left alone. There's a buddy system to help you network outside of your department and gain a different perspective.

    Cons

The planning tools were outdated and the workload became mundane. Hopes of promotion depending on other people leaving their roles due to maternity leave or quitting.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upgrade the tools the company uses so people don't spend so much time on tedious tasks and they can focus on growing as individual contributors.

    Cons

I worked at Walmart eCommerce as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

Pay is not too bad, if you are newly hired. Work load is not too heavy.

    Cons

    too many:
    - Very slow movement.
    - More than 50% of the projects got canceled in the middle or at the end when they are almost done. It's just ridiculous.
    - Benefits are bad. Number of holidays is less than most of the companies.
    - Only people who talk get promoted, but people who do the real things never get credits.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop the bureaucracy, start making things happen and start the efficiency.

    I worked at Walmart eCommerce

    Pros

Other than the name which is global and the location (SF bay area), there is no other reason to work for Walmart.com.

    Cons

You would not want to work at Walmart.com if you seek career growth.
There is no appreciation for hard work and no job satisfaction.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Leadership is not shoving things at people. Leaders must lead by example and know the people they work with to get the best out of them.
