I worked at Walt Disney Company full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

All the companies under Disney are exciting. Parks, stores, ESPN, Marvel, etc.

Salary is OK but a great resume builder. Good perks depending on the business unit your in.

    Cons

Poor HR function. They really don't care. no cross training so if you want to move to another department of division you are on your own. Pay is just OK as most people use Disney as a stepping stone to bigger and better things.

I worked at Walt Disney Company full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

In addition to the cache of having Disney on your resume, perks include:
    7 Commissaries
    multiple Starbucks
    babysitters onsite
perks for carpooling, ridesharing, reimbursement for commuting expenses
family- like culture (or attempts towards doing so, at least)
free employee shuttles between work locations
    team- like atmosphere
    gym onsite
a general sense of camaraderie and mutual respect just for being a part of Disney

    Cons

completely blindsided when I was let go of. Management provided a nebulous explanation (at best) when I asked how I could have kept my job.. It was made clear I just didn't fit in, despite them giving every indication up until my firing that I was.

co-workers are extremely fake and back biting. I observed co-workers attempting to spy on me and what I was doing throughout the day, even reporting back to managers about what I was up to. These were not supervisors- these were my peers.

lots of young people wind up working here. The ones who make it have very conservative, back- stabbing, cut- throat corporate mindsets. You're either part of the mainstream "in crowd" or you're NOT. Personality is subtly discouraged. You are either meeting their silent expectations or you will be virtually ignored in hopes that you'll just "figure it out." This is the kind of place where they smile in your face as they twist the knife they ever so- swiftly stabbed you in the back with.

you will be micro- managed as well as your work, your dress/ wardrobe, and general behavior will be scrutinized and nit picked to death, despite the illusion that it is a supportive, team like environment where you're part of a family.
