I worked at Warner Bros. as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Great people, Excellent company food, benefits. This was the best job I have ever worked in terms of day to day. The work was not very exciting, but the fringe benefits of being part of this studio are numerous. My boss was absolutely excellent, the other members of my team were incredibly supportive, and the whole Digital team was outstanding from a camaraderie perspective. I have a fond place in my heart for these folks, and if I was going to work behind a desk again, this would be my yardstick.

    Cons

Working behind a desk, constantly changing requirements, difficulty in measuring performance.

I have been working at Warner Bros. as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

There were some great perks to working for the company such as merchandise, movie screenings, farmer's market on the lot, etc.

    Cons

It was such a large company that it was quite difficult meeting other people. Lots of egos to cater to for such little pay. At least at an entry level stand point.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Since I was at an entry level position, I barely received any training and was expected to know how to work under the manager before receiving any instruction.

I worked at Warner Bros. full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good people, fun environment, diverse population. Good place to spend a few years after an MBA as you'll be doing a lot of heavy lifting - analysis and reporting - for senior management, and so will hone skills and find what areas you can add value.

    Cons

Little upward mobility and almost no opportunities for learning & development. Promotions based on tenure and insider connections, not merit.

I worked at Warner Bros. full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits are okay. Amenities are nice, the burbank studio lot is great. Depending on the position, there is a lot you can take control of and that felt rewarding.

    Cons

At the end of the day, you are just a number. Pay is below average. It did seem that even though the initiative I took was appreciated, I never got much in the way of a raise. They will keep you in your position for as long as they can, not much room for growth.

Former Employee - TWCAP Intern in Burbank, CA

I worked at Warner Bros. as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Since day one my boss made it apparent that I'd be working on important projects for the department. I was never relegated to an errand boy and felt that my work held value in the company. In addition to the interesting responsibilities, my internship program coordinated weekly workshops ranging from resume-writing to conflict management. Outside of the office, interns possessed company perks such as advanced screenings, gift-store discounts, and access to the lot.

    Cons

There were a few problems accessing important documents due to outdated software (MS Office 2003) and poor communication with the IT department.

    Pros

    - Fantastic, creative people
    - Great salary and benefits
    - Large corporation, but entertainment industry culture; no need to dress like a banker
    - Fabulous events, company-wide and within divisions

    Cons

    - Corporate hierarchy/approval processes often cause delays and stalls
    - Nepotism: To get promoted, who you know is far more important than what you know or do
    - Some managers have zero loyalty to their teams, are more interested in self-preservation
    - HR reps not always completely honest
