Former Employee - Script Coordinator in Burbank, CA

I worked at Warner Bros. TV Group full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Warner Brothers is an esteemed institution and they had pretty good 401K, corporate discounts, services and facilities; including employee gym, good cafeteria and discounted employee store.

    Cons

If you are working for a production rather than directly for the studio, while you are still entitled to the benefits and perks, your future with the company is dependent on the future of the independent production. So while you enjoy the benefits of being a Warner Brothers employee you are vulnerable to the realities of being an independent contractor as well.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The salary for Scrip Coordinators is not consistent with the cost of living in greater Los Angeles. The pay could stand to be higher.

I worked at Warner Bros. TV Group full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of opportunities to roll up your sleeves and get great hands-on experience.

    Cons

Not as many opportunities to be officially promoted. Most mid to senior level positions are pre-destined or based on existing relationships. Difficult for outsiders to progress.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be open to advancing the apparent "underdog" based on their exemplary work and dedication.

I have been working at Warner Bros. TV Group

    Pros

started in an admin role and was able to move up to an analyst after 3 years which is not too bad.

    Cons

not sure where to go from here - considering a request to be moved to a different TV division perhaps less political.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

treat lower employees as equals, understand that certain people learn and work at different levels, and that some skills that are often overlooked can be as important as some of the more "desirable" skills.

    Pros

Great environment, people, potential, competitive and the overall industry.

    Cons

Political, competitive, and overpopulated. It is difficult to get your voice heard, but with patience and hard work, it will happen.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Doing great, but give the junior staff a chance to give feedback and innovate.

I worked at Warner Bros. TV Group

    Pros

Because it is THE Warner Bros. Studio! Excellent environment, encouraging senior management, respectful co-workers, timely, pays well, overall great corporate management.

    Cons

Assistant salaries are too low for the amount of work/responsibility assigned and carried out. Takes a long time to climb up the ladder within the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase assistant salaries. Get more interns. I had a wonderful experience and learned a lot there. The team was superb and offered a whole lot of connections.
