Pros
Interesting projects to work on world wide.
Great people to work with.
Fair opportunities for advancement.
Competitive salary and benefits.
Cons
Advancements at Washington TRU Solutions are not always fair, many management promotions are given based on the relationship a person has with upper management and not necessarily based on their qualifications or experience.
Advice to Senior Management
Washington TRU Solutions should review personnel qualifications and experience more closely and hire or promote based on qualifications; and not on the relationship of a candidate to upper management.
Pros
Very Site Specific policies and Benefits.
Cons
Not transferred within company with benefits. You start over again with only credit for length of service.
Advice to Senior Management
Make all units uniform benefits with site specific allowances.
Pros
company and personal growth -- career opportunties, combined with balanced view of job -- personal life
Cons
sometimes work demands lots of hours per week
Advice to Senior Management
Be sure to talk with each employee as a genuine person
Pros
Employee oriented, good training provided
Cons
too many divisions sometimes employees could be lost
Pros
It is a really good place with understanding when employees need to take off from work. There are good working teams and a good teaching experience.
Cons
It is not too easy to transfer to different disciplines if wanted but it is easy to transfer to different work locations to get exposure to different areas of the company.
Advice to Senior Management
Make sure there is a mentor program for all recent graduates. It is hard for some recent graduates to transition from college life to work life.
Pros
Opportunity to learn and grow your talent and knowledge base. Exposure to a true enterprise enviroment, crossing all time zone and borders.
Cons
Lack of leadership, little effort to maintain or establish a company culture. Some key promotions made based on relationships rather than competence.
Advice to Senior Management
Rather than manage by keeping yourselves and line staff separate, go spend time with the people doing the work. There is a disconnect between those that direct and manage, and those who perform the work.
Pros
I began working at what was then Washington Group International as my first job out of college in 2005. My experience there was outstanding! I received challenging assignments, and I was given an excellent opportunity to see various parts of the company and expand my own skill set through a relatively new rotational training program. It afforded me the opportunity of living in various parts of the United States and working on a wide variety of projects. If you are a star, and you can get someone to be your advocate, the upside for you is great in this company. Especially if you are young, as the workforce, like most EPC companies, is aging. I thought the management was great. They were helpful and gave me good feedback on my assignments. They also allowed me to take time off as I desired. Pay was good. Overall my four years with Washington Division were excellent!
Cons
Many of the positions within Washington Division are project-based, which means you have to move to the project, and when that one is done, you have to move to another project. Not bad if you don't mind moving around, but it could be very hard on someone who wants to stay put.
Advice to Senior Management
I really enjoyed my time there. The one thing I might suggest is look harder for shining stars within the company. I think there are some all-stars there, but someone just needs to find them, and help speed them along.
Pros
Opportunities in various markets and segments of markets
Cons
The Marketing Department lacks leadership
Advice to Senior Management
Need to focus in career groth opportunities
Pros
Great opportunities for advancement for young engineers. Depending on your job assignment, you can be tasked with some very interesting work.
Cons
The executives and upper management in Boise are slowly destroying a once highly talented group of engineers. They seem to have no ability to look to the future, nor to realize what talent they have within the organization,

Pros
Good benefits, good people to work with.
Good location, low living expenses.
Great moving and education benefits.
Cons
Work is slow paced, lots and lots of rework.
Communication between departments is lacking.
Some departments make little progress, while other departments have to financially support them.
Advice to Senior Management
Get your processes hammered out so the endless circle of rework comes to at least a slow down.
