Pros

Lots of innovative ideas
Cons
Middle management was the heart of the company but the first to be let go during reorgs
Upper management lost sight of what was important
Advice to Senior Management
The bottom line is not the most important aspect of running a company.
Pros
Excellent place to work if you wnat experience in Regulatory Compliance.
Cons
Rigid work life balance outlook. Few tele-workers.
Pros
WaMu had a very diverse group of people to work with and everyone knew what they were doing and very knowledgeable.
Cons
Did not feel like I was needed and was constantly felt underrated and disrespected by management and felt they had little faith in my work.
Advice to Senior Management
Management could make the team feel a little more included and treat those working under them with more respect and value.
Pros
To employees, the company was 100% transparent (perhaps, if they treated shareholders the same, the bank might still be in business.)
Cons
As a whole staff lacked passion. Also, to avoid layoffs, employees were transferred to new teams whether they posses core competencies or not. This in turn, hurt the overall work produced. Very difficult for promotion outside of Seattle.
Advice to Senior Management
Nothing is going to bring back this place
Pros
Co-workers are great to work with.
Cons
The customers can be demanding.
Pros
Friendly and professional atmosphere. Senior management values your work.
Cons
Had too many reorgs after 2003...
Pros
One of the most humane places I have worked. The people were great.
Cons
Chaotic decision making at times added to stress.
Advice to Senior Management
Too bad the offer from Dimon and Co wasn't accepted in Spring, 09- maybe some of the jobs could have been saved.
Pros
Compensation structure was amazing, full range of products and services, and the ability to run each branch as your own business
Cons
bad loans, customer service support was weak, and too much and too many different things that created confusion within company and meeting goals
Advice to Senior Management
