    Pros

Lots of room to learn, plenty of opportunity. Lots of collaboration and the chance to work on completely new projects. I really enjoyed my time there, and learned a TON. Plenty of opportunity to work with senior management closely, if you were working on strategically aligned projects.

    Cons

Absolutely crazy as everything crashed... no work/life balance, disregard for long term business reality in pursuit of short term immediate financial gain.

  3. Great salary but dishonest management and bad loans = disaster

    Pros

If you want to, there was room to move up from the bottom.

    Cons

But the ceiling wasn't very far from the ground when it came to advancement.
The biggest disappointment, was seeing the change from being a banker and assisting people in their financial needs. Giving them clarity on what opportunities they had to make the best of their money. Counseling customers on how to manage funds. -- To trying to convince every single customer to open more and more accounts. Far more than they needed. Over and Over.

    Advice to Management

No banker needs to be pushy. Lay-off. It's a burden on the customer to be treated like an asset.

    Pros

    Cons

Politics don't belong in fraud area

    Advice to Management

Micro management works in Customer Service not in Fraud

    Pros

Despite some interesting growth opportunities, I'd call it a job and not a career. Decent pay, high turnover. Upper movement determined on office politics rather than merit. But I suppose that's true at many places.

    Cons

Upper management pushes some questionable growth numbers. Is it possible for a small branch to open 100+ new accounts in a month? Definitely. Are those accounts really needed and necessary in a small community? Probably not.

    Advice to Management

A mission statement should be a mission statement, not a PR device to brainwash employees and consumers alike into thinking poor money management, big fees, and behavior inconsistent with said mission statement.

    Pros

I truly enjoyed my time at WaMu. I loved my team and the people I worked with, learned a lot, was challenged by the work I did and liked the company's culture.

    Cons

Getting shut down by the FDIC and being devoured by JPMorgan was kind of a downer.

    Advice to Management

Ignoring risk and lending out to anybody regardless of whether they can repay the loan isn't really a good business model.
