Pros
Great room for advancement and learning opportunities given by management. Many training seminars are held monthly and all employees are given equal time to attend
Cons
Management has many cliques with employees and it appears these cliques were given more advancement opportunities and recieved promotions more.
Advice to Senior Management
be more fair in advacement
Pros
They have some of the best benefits around. While thier base salaries are lower than market, thier benefits package definetely makes up for it.
Cons
They have some people at the VP level that do little to no work . I think the upper management decides to do nothing about it as they are afraid it will reflect poorly on them (i.e. they had a bad hire).
They should worry less about this and more about getting rid of people who would barely get hired as a admin assistant at any other employer--when they have a VP title at the CU for some reason.
Advice to Senior Management
Dont be afraid to make hard deicsions on getting rid of people.
Pros
It's a place that truly cares about employees and customers. We say we do and then we walk the talk. Our company culture feels like a family - people care about eachother and are very supportive. We achieve very high levels of service.
Cons
The "like a family" company culture can backfire sometimes. Everyone knows everyone. Favoritism from management to people who don't deserve it.
Advice to Senior Management
To continue to keep service in mind. Also, to make sure that budget cuts are not overly harsh toward employees - we know it's a tough economy, but if you're going to cut salaries and pay raises, at least leave some room for employees to develop (training dollars) so that we feel there is some investment in us.
