    Pros

I have been employed with Waste Industries for over 5 years now. I have had numerous opportunities to advance my career and consider myself very loyal to the company that has treated me well along the way. This is a large regional company that still makes you feel like your part of a family business.

    Cons

Not a national company so footprint is focused on South East US.

I have been working at Waste Industries USA full-time

    Pros

The company offers great pay, competitive benefit package, and generous PTO. WI puts an emphasis on continuing education in the form of tuition reimbursement and paid training. The company wants the best people and does not hesitate in providing their folks the tools they need to be successful. BBQ's, picnics, motorcycle rides, etc. This is a company that folks are proud to work for... the folks in the field as well as the home office can be seen wearing their WI clothing outside of work because they are proud of who they work for.

    Cons

Hours can sometimes be demanding. We are in the trash business, so the work can be dirty. Two ply toilet paper.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing.

I worked at Waste Industries USA full-time

    Pros

Not bad starting pay. Think it would be a great company to work for if not in the Call Center.

    Cons

Continually wanting more, more faster - faster. Expects good Customer Service and 125 calls a day. They do not tell you that when you start. Turnover is great. I was there over a year - and saw at least 20 people come & go. You would think they would get a clue....The rest of the company seems to retain people. They even do not want you to get up to use the restroom in the Call Center.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on quality. Then you would not keep having to retrain the Call Center. 80 calls a day should be the standard - then focus on quality of the calls. You would not get as many disconnects.

I worked at Waste Industries USA full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The pros are you have a job until they won't get rid of you. I had a great job until we were bought out.

    Cons

The cons are when you have the highest production of the Branch, and are never late for work, and always at work. When you have a few accidents they fire you, and hire someone else to have accidents instead of keeping a good driver.

    Advice to Management

Safety program needs to adjusted to employees who give their best to their job and no one cares , but I did.
