    Cons

*High stress / *Can be a lot of hours for people willing to do extra work

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Benefits, Work/Life Balance, Training Opportunities, Innovative, Due to size - moving into different departments but remaining with the company allows for job growth

    Cons

Not an employee-centered company; layoffs/downsizing to be expected every couple of years; due to size of company, employees are expendable so that culture does not cultivate a feeling of loyalty or dedication

    Advice to Management

Layoffs and workforce reductions lead to dissatisfaction and low morale - even for employees who stick around; in addition - such layoffs reduce upper management positions and put greater responsibility in the hands of their subordinates - leaving mid-level management ill-equipped for their positions.

    Pros

Decent Benefits (with them steadily increasing in cost)
Coworkers are normally easy to interact with
The work culture has been formed in such a way as you are working toward a great cause.
There was a good amount of collaboration between departments.

    Cons

The pay is normally not competitive with the market.
Bonuses and raises were cut. Coupled with the pay not being competitive, there is not a real incentive to stay.
It seemed like the worker bees were always taking one for the team, while senior management pulled their golden parachutes.

    Advice to Management

    Pay market rates
Provide a solid career path with specific goals.

    Pros

Interesting problems to tackle and a large company with lots of cash to spend on marketing.

    Cons

No career growth or path. Excellent professionals are stopped in their tracks and eliminated often. Upper management winging it and playing only to Wall Street.

    Advice to Management

Make plans as you manage the company. Hire and maintain true professionals not your cronies to suddenly run HR. Public Affairs ]and Legal.

    Pros

Large amount of responsibility for level of experience, exposure to interesting technologies, interesting group of coworkers, good visibility with corporate executives

    Cons

Lack of support from the rest of company, location in Houston, not part of "core business" so subject to quarterly earnings feedback

    Advice to Management

Provide for more integration of OGG with the rest of WM

    Pros

Above average benefits & salary, stress-less work, flexible

    Cons

Clueless managers, cannot handle projects, unable to predict, or coordinate his team. Good-old-boys club which means new comers have no place.

    Advice to Management

If you still have share holder in mind, try to drive the company to be more efficient and effective. Get rid of those mid-level managers who are there only for their tenure. You need LEADERS, not managers by the title.
