I worked at Watkins Meegan full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Small Firm with opportunity for growth

    Cons

The review highlighting bullying behavior was spot on. I would add that the bullying is actually a reflection of the management team's style and their view of what is acceptable. Unfortunately, this does reflect poorly on the firm.

    Advice to Management

Rethink your style and approach to working with your staff and your supervisory staff. Bullying in any form or at any level is no longer an acceptable approach to developing people, motivating your teams or fostering commitment to your firm.

I worked at Watkins Meegan full-time

    Pros

Some of the supervisors are nice to work for.

    Cons

They have a serious problem when it comes to the handling and management of their staff - many examples of bullying and negativity amongst the staff. Also, blatant disrespect of senior leadership. When these issues were brought to management's attention, appropriate action was not taken. It's ridiculous to think this kind of stuff actually happens in a professional environment - but at Watkins Meegan it does!

    Advice to Management

Fire your staff and start over, negativity breads negativity.

I worked at Watkins Meegan full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They offered me a very competitive salary and great benefits. They were honest and believed in quality work product. They provided great training and they encouraged me to train the juniors in the firm. I got the opportunity to teach and even write training courses.

    Cons

They were a little too big and lost that small firm feel. Their practices and procedures, while top notch, put them out of the reach of small firms who could have used their expertise.

    Advice to Management

Don't forget the little guy. You are a great firm, but need to find a way to share some of that talent with small firms that could use your help.

    Pros

Lots of opportunities to grow, great people, very good camaraderie between the different offices and groups. Provides opportunities to do different things. Good strategic vision for growth

    Cons

Risk averse, sometimes lack of patience to see something materialize and for the investment to pay off.

    Advice to Management

Be a little more patient for things to materialize. Investing helps growth, so increase the investment in resources today for future growth.
