Former Employee – worked at Watson Pharmaceuticals
Pros – Fascinating work, working with product that is truly needed by patients.
Cons – Slow decision making. Always worried about FDA.
Advice to Senior Management – Look inside your company for talent, not externally.

Current Employee – been working at Watson Pharmaceuticals full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Watson pays an average salary and provides competitive benefits. Most of the people who work here are pleasant enough. If you are lucky enough to be working at site that is being expanded, then there are plenty of opportunities for upward growth.
Cons – The site I work at is notorious for its compliance issues and mismanagement, which have only worsened through the years.
Advice to Senior Management – Don't be afraid to manage. It is not fair to your employees to rely so heavily on just a few while allowing the rest to loaf. If you choke off funding to site then don't be surprised when the quality suffers. A healthy site requires the following: talented employees, competitive wages, reliable equipment, and reasonable expectations.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at Watson Pharmaceuticals full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Lot's of great field sales reps.
Cons – Products are not innovative, 4th-5th to market.
Sales managers are embarassingly incompetent, as are the product managers and the marketing department.
Advice to Senior Management – Replace every district manager and the sales & marketing personnel. Acquire products that the market actually wants and needs. Stop throwing good money after bad.

Former Employee – worked at Watson Pharmaceuticals full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Had good benefits for a reasonable price and decent salary with fairly wide pay ranges. Most Co-woworkers knowledgeable, helpful & friendly.
Cons – Too many lay-offs. Too much out-sourcing of jobs. Watson was a small company that became a much larger company through acquisiton over a relatively short period of time. Unfortunately, management didn't grow with the company & didn't know how to merge & manage all the acquisitions.

Current Employee – been working at Watson Pharmaceuticals full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Very good 401K plan and reasonably good benefits in general.
Cons – Culture of bullying, finger-pointing and punishment, highly political environment, employees discouraged from challenging status quo, opaque review process, silo mentality and culture, us vs. them attitude with quality vs. manufacturing (quality vs. quantity), culture to "release everything" and rush everything through at all costs, focus on petty issues instead of big picture, blatant favoritism (good ole boys club type environment) exhibited within certain groups by management, weak site HR, no systems to protect and fairly evaluate strong individual contributors who are not "popular" with management, long history of regulatory compliance issues, lack of clear standards for promotions or personal development, unfair work distribution, history of unqualified or insufficiently qualified personnel and management, poor communication, no leadership training (and it shows), lack of professionalism by many site managers, no 360 reviews for management despite repeated requests by employees.
Advice to Senior Management – Read the cons.

Current Employee – been working at Watson Pharmaceuticals full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – Has good general benefits, active in March of Dimes charity
Cons – new CEO has brought a morale that makes 'lower' level positions feel as though their contribution is not worthy of recognition. Former CEO and upper management geniuely cared for ALL employees. This new regime lost that.
