I have been working at Wawa full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    The great people you meet

    Cons

Pay is awful for all you do, working conditions are not the best. People in upper management seem to have no idea what they are doing, move people around with no thought process. The recruiters tell you one thing and once you start you realize they weren't the most truthful. Forced to work off the clock because of hours, even the salary managers have to. Can;t wait for the Wal-Mart to Go's to come.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at what is really going on, hours get cut if your not a favorite, working conditions are unsafe, but we say safety is so important. The 6 core values are dead, I can't even say their dying.

I have been working at Wawa full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Small privately owned company with ample opportunity to move from one discipline to another within the business. Great employee ownership program. Lots of food and taste tests for fresh food products. Great opportunities for charitable volunteering and community outreach. Great health and life insurance.

    Cons

Poor work/life balance - associates are overworked. Associates are not consistently provided the tools and resources they need to succeed. Senior leadership is not aligned.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create better career paths - hire from within - place greater emphasis on providing all employees with the tools they need

I have been working at Wawa part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Training was easy
Awesome managers that I could relate to
    Some great co-workers

    Cons

Order nights are extremely hectic when it is only the bare essential workers
Doing the same tasks as the managers doesn't mean that you will be compensated or treated as a manager

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If someone like myself has managerial responsibilities, they should be shown more respect from other co-workers. If I go above and beyond what a normal CSA is supposed to do, then I should deserve some sort of compensation.

I have been working at Wawa part-time for more than a year

    Pros

A little bit better starting pay than most retail. Entry level job. Easy for "favorites" to move up.

    Cons

It's always the same people working weekends.. the used to rotate everyone so it was fair but stopped. Tell me why someone who has only been with the company two months should get moved up to AGM?? Versus someone who has been there a year and stays late everyday to get stuff done.. Too much favoritism, it's not fair!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be fair or else you will lose a lot of dedicated, hard-working employees that have been with the company awhile. Also use goosebumps more for 2nd & 3rd shifts too, they are always forgotten/left out.

I have been working at Wawa

    Pros

The pay is amazing, and working in the deli is so much fun, but except during lunch rush, and register is so simple. And I love my co workers there so cool and fun

    Cons

Being in the cold box is honestly the worst and when you start working there everyone ask you to do everything, but it gets better

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    More space in the deli

    I worked at Wawa

    Pros

Lots of training, flexibility (for the most part) in taking off, established good relationships.. good place to start because their pay is more than minimum wage (ie: mcdonalds..etc)

    Cons

    - Drama, associates work harder than their boss,if you dont work you're not paid because it takes time to accumulate PTO.. my personal issue as well was getting ESOP .. I worked from 16 to 23 full time until I was 18 and moving forward I wasnt able to get any of the ESOP because I didn't work fulltime after 21..all that hardwork didn't get benefits or ESOP .

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - help associates move up

I have been working at Wawa full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Great benefit opportunities offered through low cost insurance options, profit sharing, tuition reimbursement, and management tuition.

    Cons

Not too much room for advancement outside of the 4 management titles, so the salary cap is a real hinderance
