I have been working at Wayne State full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Many opportunities are there. In some labs quality of research is high. But compared to other big universities Wayne state lacks the cutting edge research.

    Cons

You can only jump so hight here. No matter how hard you work there is a limitation on how far you could reach in terms of research publications due to low funding.

    Doesn't Recommend
    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Wayne State part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Architectually beautiful campus with an increasingly vibrant campus life Diverse employees Some good benefits for graduate student/teaching/research assistants (medical, tuition coverage)

    Cons

Untrustworthy administrators Unfriendly/disgruntled employees Expensive parking (especially for student employees) Some buildings in disrepair Lack of community and geniality (low morale) in some departments

    Advice to Management

Graduate student/teaching/research assistants should not pay the same parking rate that non-student employees pay. While benefits are good, there is a lot of distrust of administration among employees. Greater transparency and consistency would do a lot of good for the morale of employees.
