    Pros

Forward thinking software development company using advanced technology to build customer facing products. Products make a difference in our daily lives - most people don't even realize they are experiencing a WSI product. Focus on outcomes and performance - treats people like professionals. Cares about employees as individuals. I look forward to coming to work everyday....always learning something new.

    Cons

Need to update the office space which is in process.

Private weather company tops in the Northeast in the Boston area.

    Pros

Benefits are very good. 401K offered. Short term and long term disability. 12 vacation days to start, with option of taking comp day for major holidays or additional pay. After 5 years, 10 years etc vacation increases. Senior management is open to listening at any time. For a private weather company, salary is very fair likely exceeding most private weather companies, though for the Boston area could be better.

    Cons

Cannot grow with this company and move up the ladder. Have asked management what I can do to move up, and answer is not much, as that goes for everyone. Pay raises are dismal. You can go above and beyond the call of duty, and yet it does not matter. There is no incentive. Have been told there is a cap to what each employee can make in prospective group.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay raises need to be improved upon. You have people who have not called out sick in years. People working holidays and weekends on regular basis and it doesn't appear to have any appreciative value to it. There is no end of the year bonus or get together for anyone to bask in and reflect upon their hard work, effort and solid contributions made to the company and its success during the course of the year. A little reward can go a long way to making a group feel a lot more appreciated come years end. The importance of the job at hand is critical to major corporations. Effective and accurate forecasts literally save our clients hundreds of thousands of dollars every year. Yet, the old adage in this economy lately of 'be lucky you have a job' seems to be what this company gets by on.
