    Good Company

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThe general work environment is solid and management is supportive of all staff. What really makes this company strong is the talented people.

ConsLimited staff in some areas means vacation is difficult to enjoy. As some have noted, the work-life balance is pretty poor.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Advice to Senior ManagementGet some goals & priorities and share them with the company. Then stick to them and empower your employees to reach them. Upgrade your systems and stop doing everything manually on paper... Just make the investment and spend the money!

ProsThere always something to do, good benefits, loads of overtime, a lot traveling for those who like to travel

Out dated technology, old school (negative) management

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGreat benefits with competitive pay. International company with a multitude of locations. Concept of safety being most important is great. Co-workers are amazing.

ConsPoor communication. Employees who suggest ways to improve are told it's not their place. Antiquated software. Kudos and Atta Boys are non-existent. Still archiving paper files in boxes. Promoting from within is a joke. Management is all about production numbers with little (if any) concern for employees or their safety. Management favors the needs of male employees over female employees. Employees who suffer injuries at work are harassed.

Advice to Senior ManagementNegative reinforcement has been proven to not work. Happy employees will ALWAYS be more productive than those who are unhappy. Employees who are constantly berated and beaten down will do bare minimum and are careless. Happy employees pay attention and care about their jobs. If you want your production numbers to increase, try treating your employees like they are important and matter.

Update the software employees use to perform their jobs. AS400 has been old technology for decades. It is slow and costly to maintain. Every other oil company uses SAP, which is user friendly and efficient. It is everything that JDE is not. JDE - the base program for Weatherford operations was developed in 1990's and looks like it. Weatherford continues to fall behind the competition and will never be able to catch up and then keep up unless it makes a decision to enter the 21st Century and then punch on to 2014.

    Not bad, but Not Great

    Accountant (Former Employee)
    Houston, TX

ProsYou have the ability to move to different positions within the company after a year of employment.

ConsBonuses are not given at all levels.
If you don't have tough skin, Weatherford is probably not the place for you. Managers will speak to you in a rude tone 75% of the time.

Advice to Senior ManagementValue your employees. Treat them as the hard working people they are and not just a number. Bonuses should be given to ALL employess even on the administration level.
