    Pros

Great income potential, most managers are great to work for. Learn a lot over a short period of time, which was great for me.

    Cons

Some managers leave you scratching your head, wondering how they got where they are. They like to promote after people make mistakes, move the problem on to someone else.

Oil industry is too unstable to life stressfree.

    Pros

Loved working for weatherford. Great coworkers, great boss. Place felt like family. Would go back in a heartbeat if it ever picks back up.

    Cons

Being on call 24/7, but you get used to it.
Never knowing when you will get called out so you can't make plans.

    Advice to Management

Show more appreciation to your wire line operators. They work harder than other employees and deserve more respect and entitlements. If you're going to give engineers cell phones, trucks, and purchasing cards, wire line operators deserve them too. Engineers can't work with out operators.

    Pros

It is a large company with a small company mentality. Senior level managers like to interact with the newest operators.

    Cons

Long hours, little family time, constantly on call

    Advice to Management

Listen to district level managers, they can manage their areas better.

    Pros

The company did a fantastic job garnering maximum experience for its intern class in Oklahoma City. The company works hard to retain employees in general - even in the current petroleum downturn, Weatherford has at least attempted to retain as many of its employees as it can.

    Cons

Due to the nature of fieldwork, it's difficult to assign long-term projects. Additionally, there will be long hours - however, that's just the nature of the job.

    Advice to Management

Management did a fantastic job throughout the internship. I appreciated the help and felt welcome in their offices throughout the experience.

    Pros

Excellent salary, training, professional atmosphere, good benefits.

    Cons

Years of bad management at the top of the company have led to huge lay-offs of personnel who were not involved in making those bad management decisions.

    Advice to Management

Implement a review process for management that includes input from the employees of managers so you have a more complete picture of managers' performance. Currently, there is no feedback from employees about their managers' performance and there are many managers who are not only not performing, but are completely incompetent.
