    I worked at Weatherford

    Pros

Management rewarded good, proactive work on a steady basis. Gave potential for quick growth within the organization.

    Cons

The only negative event I had was with a misunderstanding I had with my Coordinator. I unfortunately listened to a customers remark and doubted my Coordinator. The only con I had working with this Division and Corporation was of my own negligence to seek to understand before being understood.

I have been working at Weatherford full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Since most departments lack any kind of standardized operating procedures, training documents, best practices, etc. there is a LOT of low hanging fruit to pick from when trying to build your resume. There is a general lack of organization and discipline throughout the company so it is quite a bit easier to implement new ideas than other companies with more structure. With so many problems to fix, it's fairly easy to make an impact in improving things.

    Cons

Below market pay, tendency to hire from outside instead of promoting from within, little to no training offered (except for operations-related subjects), only match up to 4% of 401k contributions (after first 6 months), no stock awards except for director-level positions and higher. No institutionalized career development so it's up to you and your boss to plot a career path, assuming you're lucky enough to have a boss who cares. Since there is no consistency in how things are done (due to the lack of managerial discipline of executives) it can be very frustrating at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on implementing organizational discipline within the company. Reporting of any kind (inventory, accounting, etc.) can not be trusted since the product lines' main focus is operations and everything else is considered a necessary burden. Most people in operations only do the bare minimum it takes to process orders without any understanding or consideration of how it will affect other departments such as tax, A/R, collections, accounting, trade compliance, etc. so it's very common for inventory to be reported as expenses, assets not being categorized as such, and non-stock items being counted in inventory. This company needs to stop allowing divisions to be run as separate 'fiefdoms' and start building a cohesive strategy for managing the business. There are far too many exceptions allowed for each product line to manage this company effectively. It's ironic our company slogan is "One Weatherford" because that is the exact opposite of what we truly are. There is little consistency even within the same product line and country, let alone different countries and/or product lines.

I have been working at Weatherford full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The benefits are nice & there are some great people working there.

    Cons

This company is ran very poorly. Upper-management is completely disconnected with their employees. I don't understand how a company like this can still be in business. Don't even get me stated on employee safety! There is no REAL safety training & no REAL safety coverage. I might multiple safety coordinators while I worked there & I can honestly say they have no idea what they are doing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

My advise would be to really look at your managers. Most of them have no manager training or knowledge of their jobs.
