    Pros

I found that it is a much better environment than some of the other leading service companies. I always was paid well and when I asked for work or time off, usually got it with little or no issues. I wish I could still be working for them, even if I am just on the sidelines waiting for work for a month.

    Cons

like any oil field job, it can be taxing being away from home for long periods of time. Field jobs can also be a notoriously dead end, sure the pay and benefits are great, but what else is there as you get older. The industry is in much disarray and Weatherford is very much in disarray, frankly I don't know what the long time future of the company is or their end game is. They are making some positive moves, but I just wonder what took so long for them to implement these changes as the company has not have the strongest revenue the last 5-10 years compared to its competitors. I feel they are certainly lagging behind technological wise as well, if the board would invest in technology and field personnel instead of hopping countries so they can avoid taxes and compensate themselves more for cutting those who generate the revenue, who knows how well they could be weathering this storm.

    Advice to Management

More notice could be given to families about impending layoffs, better education and training programs. I like the progress the company is making in eliminating the bureaucracy and selling off of less or non-profitable components of the company, as well as focusing on building cash flow. They could be doing themselves ill when things do rebound. If they don't decide to just to sell off, they will be a definite, lean, mean, fighting machine.

    Pros

Great company with very good benefits. Great hours and excellent learning environment. A lot of people say bad things about this company but it has been nothing but good to me.

    Cons

Advancement opportunities are rare. Give incentives to better ourselves and employees will put more effort into their work.

    Advice to Management

Learn to manage a little better rather than expect everyone to know what to do. Plans are changing all the time and we need a manager here with us to make decisions at that precise moment. Raises could be much better also.

    Pros

assist you with learning about field operations, great way to get your foot in the door.

    Cons

hmmmm. none? lol. many cons, mostly stem from management not communicating anything to employees. guaranteed hours, or any hours at all are not to be taken for granted here.

    Advice to Management

not fair to employees to place them on call, not sure if legal, but understandable since a good chunk of management is run basically on a buddy system.

    Pros

The income is good if you are willing to be away from home all of the time. Company vehicle is a plus. Also, the job is not that hard if you are willing to work.

    Cons

You are gone ALL of the time. Work weeks are usually 90 hours. When there is a slump, they will cut engineers.
