I have been working at Web.com Inc full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The general work environment is pleasant enough... typical corporate environment. The Christmas party is very nice.

    Cons

Very low pay. And there are never, ever any raises. I know people that have worked there for years and are still making the same as when they started. I also do not think the product that is delivered to the customer is of any quality... in fact, I hate to say it, but it's really bad. I would totally approve positively of the CEO, as he is a very nice person, but I am sure that he is aware that they are delivering garbage to customers that are paying a very good deal of money for cheap, inefficient sites. Sorry, but that it the truth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Push for pay raises when people deserve them. And for the customers, quantity should never come before quality.

    Pros

It is a growing company with lots of things to learn, you can take advantage from that depending on the experience you have, work life balance is ok, and promotions occur from time to time.

    Cons

Salaries might be better, there is no training whatsoever. communication within the organization can be improved as well, people do not seem to have the right knowledge to adequately perform their jobs, this is mostly done based on experience.

    Not Terrible, Not Great

    I worked at Web.com Inc full-time

    Pros

Hardworking employees get compensated for contribution in their department; work-life balance

    Cons

    Too many "meetings" that are meant for the company to stay relevant but - in a few days/week - everything stated as a rule in said meeting gets thrown out the window; the base pay is very small - must work like a pack mule in order to receive higher incentives/bonuses per paycheck;

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Although the meetings upper management had were supposed to be productive, the end result unfortunately kept the company's products irrelevant as new standards/rules would be thrown out the window literally the next day.

I have been working at Web.com Inc full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

You get to wear whatever you want and have weekends off. You also work at own pace which is good, but can also be a bad thing when it comes to pay.

    Cons

Training is horrible. You basically sit at your desk all day after completing a mock website, waiting for your manager, who is doing 10 billion other things, to get back to you. Everything is done via email which makes it really hard to understand if you are actually doing a good job or not. You are also getting feedback from multiple people who say all different things are wrong or right which is very confusing. Some of the stuff you need to learn while training isn't talk until months after you've been there which can cost you your incentives when writing a site. You get low pay for writing a five-page website with barely any information, but if you spell a word wrong or your sentence structure looks off, the website is sent back to you so you don't get the incentive pay. Quality control seems to always find something small wrong with the site and instead of just going in and fixing it really quick, they send it back to the writer, who then loses their incentives over it. The copy writing department has lost upwards of 6 people within 1 month. People are constantly looking to leave.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on training more. You should train with one manager, not one manager, and five other people that are saying different things. There is more of a focus on quantity versus quality, when it should be the opposite. Websites would probably be written better this way and there would be less returns if you focused on the moral of the group and providing them incentives for the sites done right rather then how many sites are done.

    Pros

Fun place to work, nice people, cool products and environment. Casual dress code. Good community outreach events.

    Cons

Everyone is over-worked and slightly underpaid, every department seems to need more help and cannot ever get it due to "budget" issues.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay people what they are worth and they won't leave.
Pay people MORE than they are worth and they will stay AND continue to work like dogs.
Provide more opportunities for advancement, even small ones, in all depts.

I have been working at Web.com Inc full-time

    Pros

Great, smart people, in general. Most come in the door optimistic and creative, ready to make an impact.
Stock is doing well and everyone receives as part of benefits.
    Excellent health plan

    Cons

Lower pay rate than market comparables, management style needs work, all levels but the very top. Communication is not consistent nor clear. Expectations fluctuate too much. Team collaboration is not present nor encouraged. Too much process change and movement within departments to allow people to do well consistently. Not motivating. Not enough positive reinforcement, encouragement or recognition across the board. Sales training, not just learning the products or how to build the sites, is necessary for everyone in this company, in order to become a real competitor and for employees to feel confident in the sales and fulfillment process, and that their customers are being taken cared of and listened to.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Many excellent managers and executives have left after speaking with upper management about their concerns for this company. All try hard to make change but there is little flexibility and those that leave have lost faith that change will occur. Most employees are optimistic because the people hired in the trenches are good and extremely hard working, but the payout is not enough to entice people to stay when cultural change is not occurring during these years of focus on acquisition. Generally speaking, customers are not happy and the feeling is growth happened too fast without enough attention paid to the people responsible for maintaining the growth and the customers needing good service.

    Pros

Relaxed atmosphere, stock options, growing company.

    Cons

Pay is well below average, no raises or cost of living increases.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay people what they are worth and they will not quit left and right. 105% increases across the board would change the game.
