I have been working at WebMD Health

    Pros

A seriously talented and motivated group of people who are smart and fun. Lack of politics - a real 'get down to business' feel.

    Cons

NYC where there is a relatively high cost of living.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep asking for input from all levels and encourage new approaches, new ideas.

I worked at WebMD Health as a contractor

    Pros

Smart professionals are friendly and have a can-do spirit. Calm, quiet, no-drama atmosphere. Reasonably flexible on work schedule, time off, etc.

    Cons

Of course there's a lot of competition for these jobs; you need to be good at what you do. And you need to look at everything from a Western (allopathic) medicine perspective.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Knowledge and training are valuable. Keep more employees on as regular employees instead of using so many contractors.

    Pros

Pretty laid back atmosphere. Individuals are great to work with.

    Cons

Nothing really, other than I don't think I was paid as much as I should have been.

I have been working at WebMD Health full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Very friendly, smart, dedicated colleagues. No one is looking over my shoulder. Liberal with work from home days. Competitive salary. Very little overtime. Office closes early the day before holidays. Demonstrated value of work-life balance. If you show that you are responsible within the scope of your job, it is recognized and appreciated...I feel like my managers want to make sure I have everything I need. My colleagues were always available to me as a resource when I was learning the ropes. Everyone I've dealt with is eternally polite, courteous, convivial, and friendly.

    Cons

I have no complaints at this time. Absolutely none.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

At least in my department, PLEASE keep doing what you're doing. You make me want to come to work every day and I thank you.

I worked at WebMD Health full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

I thought the culture here was fantastic. There were a ton of A players, who were passionate about the space and the kind of work we were doing.
Very much a place where you are given freedom to make the most of it.

    Cons

Very entreprenurial, you have to pull from the organization what you want and need. It isn't always offered. ( this can be good or bad ).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Since I left, it is very clear that management recognized the challenges ahead and took steps to figure out a path forward for success. Digital is ever evolving. Ensure you have your finger on the pulse of where digital is going in healthcare. I'd love to see real investment in R&D to try new product ideas and services out.
