Webroot Software Reviews

Pros
Interesting work, highly competitive field, personally satisfying to walk into Best Buy and see software prominently displayed in the software department. Deadlines are very ambitious and there is always a lot to do. You get to use several different languages and tools, and webroot is very conscientious about providing comp time, bonuses and perks.
Cons
Nights/weekends often required, not everyone hired knows English or is a good software engineer. The personnel are very inconsistent in ability. Reviews are often hilariously out of touch and based on standards set by people who were unable to sustain the expected pace in the long run. There is a very large tendency of management to underestimate the size of a project or to underestimate the complexity of the existing software they want to rewrite. This results in a stubborn refusal to upgrade to the latest version of a tool or language that they think they are about to drop.
Advice to Senior Management
Drop H-1B's, require English proficiency for employment. Nobody likes working with someone who can't be understood or who obviously doesn't understand what others are saying.
