I worked at Weight Watchers full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

great young group of people that care and help one another out.

    Cons

upper management fill with politics and favoritism. Will overwork those that know what they are doing and let the others do nothing simply because they know them personally. Directors are all liars and will stab people in the back.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

can't give any because they will eat you out. or dismiss you

I have been working at Weight Watchers part-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Wonderful co-workers, helping and seeing people change, super flexible in that I can take as much time off as needed as long as I can find a sub.

    Cons

The stress of HAVING to keep your weight off to maintain your employment actually makes it harder to do so; way behind in technology; the pay isn't great. Like I said, it's a great job if you don't need the money.

I worked at Weight Watchers full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good Benefits
    Brand Loyalty
Free Weight Watchers meetings, 50% off products

    Cons

    Large turnover of Representatives.
    Inconsistent management
    Zero office culture
It seems there's new management even time you turn around. With the new management comes different ideas of how this place should be run. I'm not against change and some of the change in management was a good thing however WW is not known for it's agility and changing to meet the expectations of new management could be a struggle.
Interviewing and hiring new management while the current management was still in place was not cool.
Incorrect priorities. Namely: Technology. Weight Watchers is behind the times. The CEO at the time made a speech stating that weight loss apps are a fad. Naming MyFitnessPal as a prime example. Well, you were wrong. People pay for the privilege to use these tools. Please make them the best they can be or, of course, people are going to pick the free one. I have to be honest and say that I've used MyFitnessPal since it's inception and it's far more superior. Fix the website, fix the app.
The Leaders and Receptionists are the heart and soul of Weight Watchers. Please treat them fairly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make technology a priority. Meetings are dying. Online is where it's at.
Treat the Leaders and Receptionists like the gold they are. The way they're being treated is disgusting.
Learn how to hire the right people.

    Pros

Nice work environment, lower level people very friendly

    Cons

Management thinks they are a club and no one is allowed in

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Talk to your people and try listening. They have become very top-heavy in the PMO world, with too many AVPs, VPs, Directors and such. The PMO leaders talk the talk, but do not walk the walk. Some of them should even try interfacing with their team (novel concept)

I have been working at Weight Watchers part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

helping people lose weight and get healthier, having nice coworkers, interacting with members, having confidence in our weight loss program and knowing it is not a gimmick

    Cons

poor wages, Corporate has little connection to field staff, technology is way behind (both internal technology and member product technology), poor inventory management--products constantly on back order, wasteful shipping, high expectations, low morale, lack of transparency

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Saying you are being transparent is not the same as actually being transparent. Repeating it over and over doesn't make it true. Corporate seems to be trying to improve their relationship with field staff, but not all management level employees are doing the same, and the employee experience varies greatly depending on where you live, and there is no way to report such problems without putting your job at risk. Overall, Corporate is Corporate and very far removed from the meeting rooms across the country (especially traveler locations). Many times I feel as if I am working for a company from the past; everything is very outdated and the way business is done at a local level is very mom-and-pop, and honestly embarrassing.

    Pros

motivated coworkers, cappucino machine in the kitchen, summer Fridays

    Cons

Wreckless disregard for longtime employees who give their all to the company; shortsightedness on the part of senior-level executives.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

it's not a beer or food company, it's a PEOPLE company. What was the point of laying off hard-working, engaged employees so you can bring in overpaid consultants?
