I have been working at WeiserMazars full-time

    Pros

The office is new and beautiful.

    Cons

Firm has no vision. Sweatshop mentality (tax season all year). Turnover is extremely high. Human resources enables an unhealthy work environment. Certain partners project blame on staff for firm failures and deflect responsibility while working as little as possible. The mindset is, quantity over quality, as long as the return is out the door it doesn't matter how incorrect it is. Avoid the tax department at all costs- no paycheck is worth the amount of stress and lack of respect you will receive while working in such a hostile environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Certain managers are required to work too much while certain managers are exempt from working at all. It is all about who you know and which partner protects you. Company values, leadership, and quality management are not a priority at Weiser.

    Pros

You learn a lot and have a lot of opportunities to take on new jobs/experiences if you show the initiative. The people (for the most part) are great. There are a lot of clubs/activities/happy hours during non-busy season.
Raises are very good. Bonuses are okay.

    Cons

While the hours aren't nearly as bad as "Big 4," they are a challenge

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at WeiserMazars full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Supportive co-workers, good opportunity to gain experience dealing with clients directly, decent upward mobility for dedicated staff.

    Cons

It seems like management and firm partners have been unable to get on the same page about the firm's goals: some are trying to turn the firm into a much larger organization, but not everyone has bought in.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus more on organic growth, rather than acquisitions.

I have been working at WeiserMazars full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Friendly atmosphere, great work/life balance outside of busiest periods. There are some (although few) young and dynamic leaders. HR are supportive.

    Cons

Highly bureaucratic processes which hinder ability to service clients. Top management rarely communicate to the wider team, rarely informed about joiners/leavers etc. Most of the partners are nearing retirement and seem to care very little about their successors.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest more in development of young and dynamic leaders who could impact real positive change in the business
