I worked at WeiserMazars full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Decent work life balance within the audit practice, but that's heavily dependent upon which group you're in. Partners in Real Estate are friendly and approachable.

    Cons

In fighting between groups. A lot of "us" vs. "them", especially between the foreign (Mazars) and domestic groups (legacy Weiser).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bridge the gap between the various groups (audit, tax, Mazars) in terms of the "us" vs. "them" mentality. The busy seasons tend to differ between the various groups, which harbors a bit of resentment (audit season is over in the summer, when tax season is ramping up). Mazars busy season is typically Dec-Feb, which leads to domestic audit team harboring resentment.

I have been working at WeiserMazars

    Pros

WeiserMazars is a company that is motivated on changing the landscape of business through tax, accounting and advisory services to different industries. Their greatest pro is the people they have working for them. They are some of the most experienced and influential people in their respect industries.

    Cons

One of the biggest cons of working for WeiserMazars is their could be more exposure to business development for younger employees. Most of the business development is driven by the partners and managers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Establishing a more defined employee development program would be beneficial for the professional and personal growth of new employees.

I worked at WeiserMazars full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Good introductory experience to accounting, auditing and transaction services. Interesting, international environment. Work with diverse, international companies across the USA.

    Cons

Despite efforts made to formalize training at the junior levels, the amount of knowledge, skills and experience gained varies a great deal based on which coworkers junior employees are staffed with.

There is a disconnect between the 'French' and 'non-French' sides of WeiserMazars which at times can seem unhealthy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Break down distinction between different groups, don't staff based on nationality.

I worked at WeiserMazars as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

    Great pay
    Great work/life balance
    Many social opportunities
Small (could be a pro or a con)

    Cons

Small (could be a pro or con )
Everyone in the office is very nice but since they are so small, if you do not fit in, you are out of luck. No one is ever mean but there is definitely a predominate personality type among employees that I cannot quite put my finger on that if you don't have, you will not fit in.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The work itself was fine, perhaps with expansion new personality types will be introduced to the office.

I have been working at WeiserMazars full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I have only positive things to say about the company.

I love the ambiance, the spirit, the people, the flexibility of HR to try to make you happy and many many other things.
The company will always try to help, provide, and make you satisfied with your schedule.
They do and encourage you to do a lot of social events, sports or associations. They make you involved in the recruiting process early in your career so you feel involved.
About the job: You will be working with mostly nice people. Most of them will take the time to train you, will be patient and understanding.

The relationship is founded on Trust and I feel that for the past 3 years it has been a give and take relationship.
Yes I sometimes worked long hours and even sometimes on weekends. But when the busy season is over, you get to have a great work life balance and enjoy most of the summer.

    Cons

Sometimes Reviews can be tough... it all depend on the team you work with... so be aware.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Office Culture is great. Promotions and perks, well... it can always get better :)

I have been working at WeiserMazars full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Generous salary, lots of time off (every new employee gets 23 days vacation/ sick plus seven paid holidays, plus reduced hours during the summer), decent access to training and generous when reimbursing expenses

    Cons

It seems like some people end up working crazy hours, learning a lot and then leaving while others coast by and end up sticking around.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a close look at the book of business and trim the clients that don't make the firm any profit and stress everyone out.

I have been working at WeiserMazars

    Pros

    Good people & decent pay

    Cons

Not a lot of room for growth. Not willing to help you grow unless you are a favorite. Long hours. Communication is a joke. Benefits are horrible. Raises are not good at all.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take notice of your good people, before you lose them all! It's too late to change people's minds after they are already fed up.

I have been working at WeiserMazars full-time

    Pros

The office is new and beautiful.

    Cons

Firm has no vision. Sweatshop mentality (tax season all year). Turnover is extremely high. Human resources enables an unhealthy work environment. Certain partners project blame on staff for firm failures and deflect responsibility while working as little as possible. The mindset is, quantity over quality, as long as the return is out the door it doesn't matter how incorrect it is. Avoid the tax department at all costs- no paycheck is worth the amount of stress and lack of respect you will receive while working in such a hostile environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Certain managers are required to work too much while certain managers are exempt from working at all. It is all about who you know and which partner protects you. Company values, leadership, and quality management are not a priority at Weiser.
