I worked at WellCare full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Possible shift in culture from corporate leadership, but slow to reach to reach other market. Many good people who want to do good work for their members. Good Salary.

    Cons

No guidance from senior leadership, disorganized corporate to market communication and processes, culture of blame permeates from corporate to market, clickish office environment, passive aggressive senior management with inability to communicate and delegate appropriately to skilled staff.

    Advice to Management

Provide management and leadership training. Mentor and guide up and coming leadership who want to make positive contributions to the company.

I have been working at WellCare full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

We serve some of the most vulnerable populations. Providing health-care coverage to the aged, children, the poor. Volunteering your time is highly encouraged. I love the fact that we help communities across the country.

    Cons

The growing pains have been hard, but with the new focus from leadership to improve infrastructure there is light at the end of the tunnel.

    Advice to Management

Senior leadership needs to keep the focus. We are seeing improvement.

I have been working at WellCare full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Money and benefits are very good. Lots of extras for discounts on various products via the purchasing power plans they have which can really save you money.

    Cons

Absolutely zero communication between departments. Not one person understands the business as a whole. The companies overall approach to getting anything done is to go through multiple layers of "corporate red tape". Pertinant information is not distributed to all that need to know, but is freely given to many who don't.

    Advice to Management

Hire a team which can create a full corporate communication strategy and who will also be given the authority to implement the plan. We are also losing very qualified, highly intelligent associates and managers who should not be waking out the doors due to the lack of currently open positions. The historical knowledge within these individuals should be highly sought after, but yet we simply watch them walk out the door.

    Pros

good benefits for health and dental

    Cons

very non-consistant information. Management is never available and does not even know what they are doing to help if you do need it. management gets away with whatever they want such as treating each employee differently and their favorites get what ever they want.

    Advice to Management

put someone in management that knows what they are doing and ensure they treat each employee the same.

    Pros

The people I was able to work with were second to none. Compensation was very fair and my particular management vertical was outstanding.

    Cons

Lack of promotions (good ole boy network), poor communication between teams, constant changing values and moving targets in IT.

    Advice to Management

I'm not sure management in general has an IT how bad things in IT are. The IT management team has not done anything but tear down a process that while not perfect was working.
