    Pros

    Varied work environment. Constant changes.

    Cons

Due to industry demands, work is never ending. One can look at that as negative or security due to the constant evolving world of IT Healthcare.

I worked at WellStar Health System full-time

    Pros

They have a very engaged executive staff who are not only focused on their patients and personnel, but on creating a very favorable experience for both. Their Facilities, Construction and Real Estate team is one of the best, and have a truly unique perspective on delivering a comfortable and pleasant environment in all of their locations. Overall they treat their people very well and provide an advantageous career environment.

    Cons

It can be a demanding job to maintain the standards set for excellence in the organization.

Pretty Good Place to work but ZERO Communication between Leadership and Staff.

I have been working at WellStar Health System full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Good work life balance overall, but that totally depends on what department you work in.

    Cons

Not a lot of effective Leadership. Leadership is often invisible and yet wants you to react to their request in a matter of seconds. Their is ZERO consistency in the leadership and less than ZERO communication.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get the communication issue resolved ASAP. It is a major source of frustration in the staff. Figure out what is best for the company not just the agenda of 1 or 2 members of Leadership.

I have been working at WellStar Health System full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Pension plan is great. I love the ICU in which I work and all of the people I work with.

    Cons

Terrible insurance! And, upper management does not care about their nurses or if they are happy. Safety is beginning to be a concern due to fact that they won't give raises to new grads who are now experienced nurses. They would rather lose their experienced nurses and hire all new grads to pay less.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your nurses. They drive customer service, which is what determines the compensation for the hospital (which is ridiculous)! But, since that is the case, the big wigs should take a closer look at that.

    Pros

The Doctor's are excellent and very professional.

    Cons

Manger didn't appreciate the good workers, actually showed favoritism to the workers that did little or nothing!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to listen to their employee. Especially when there are several complaints from several people about the manager and office atmosphere.

I have been working at WellStar Health System full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

It is a place to work

    Cons

No work-life balance. Bonuses to regular employees are based on customer service in the emergency department which the other departments have no control over. Bonus is supposedly a max of $750 but all system employees are receiving $84 for the yearly bonus, Cobb hospital employees get $64, Douglas employees get $300, not exactly fair especially when upper management gets thousands in bonuses. The benefits are a joke, very expensive and terrible service. The IT department in particular is a nightmare. Employees are resigning on a weekly basis and no one cares. Going to H.R. is a sure way to get targeted and there are no employee advocates. Employee surveys are sent out and the results speak volumes but management just puts teams in a room and berates them for the poor scores. Been there 12 years and it is worse now than I have ever seen by far. No oversight anywhere. The foxes run the hen house.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop hiring consultants, appreciate and reward experience and talent. Take a hard look at what is happening in departments where there is massive turnover. Be fair.

    Pros

Huge hospital system, plenty of educational opportunities

    Cons

Extremely low pay compared to other comparable sized hospital systems in metro Atlanta area, lot of favoritism, uneducated managers who get promoted because of who they know

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get some education so your subordfeel err l like they can use you as resource, reward your employees based on what they accomplish, give them more than a 3% raise. Learn to manage
