I worked at WellStar Health System full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Benefits, friendly people. The company has good vision for the future. The employee discounts are fair. There is a good opportunity to move around to different departments.

    Cons

The pay is not up to par with other health systems in the area. Employees have little say in how things should be handled. Poor raises and bonuses.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees, the employees who actually do the job on a daily basis not the management. How can they dictate how a job should be done if they don't do it? Reward good work with good raises! .27 cents- .32 cents is not a good yearly raise!!

    Pros

Hours, patients, vacation allotted, PRN staff were very nice

    Cons

Management needed classes for anger issues. Management gossiped behind other office staff and Doctor that she didn't like's backs. LPN's not paid well.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Interview your clinical office staff in independent, non retaliatory, anonymous ways. You would be shocked by the treatment of some employees by management. Orientation/software training was a joke. Started late due to late attender... was let out "early" for lunch which lasted 2 hours... restarted and only had class for about an hour before let out to go home... same person late all three days and nothing was said to her and we had to restart from the beginning of the class to "let her catch up"... total time I spent actually learning software was approximately 5 hours. Then was chastised by mgr because "she" helped develop the orientation and "I should have learned something".

I have been working at WellStar Health System full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Good work life balance overall, but that totally depends on what department you work in.

    Cons

Not a lot of effective Leadership. Leadership is often invisible and yet wants you to react to their request in a matter of seconds. Their is ZERO consistency in the leadership and less than ZERO communication.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get the communication issue resolved ASAP. It is a major source of frustration in the staff. Figure out what is best for the company not just the agenda of 1 or 2 members of Leadership.

    Pros

They have a very engaged executive staff who are not only focused on their patients and personnel, but on creating a very favorable experience for both. Their Facilities, Construction and Real Estate team is one of the best, and have a truly unique perspective on delivering a comfortable and pleasant environment in all of their locations. Overall they treat their people very well and provide an advantageous career environment.

    Cons

It can be a demanding job to maintain the standards set for excellence in the organization.

    Pros

The Doctor's are excellent and very professional.

    Cons

Manger didn't appreciate the good workers, actually showed favoritism to the workers that did little or nothing!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to listen to their employee. Especially when there are several complaints from several people about the manager and office atmosphere.
