Pros
Safe company, the company not only thinks of themselves, but what will happen to the company five years from that decision.
Cons
It can be a bit stressful when the whip gets cracked when it comes to sales. You have to be prepared to make sales a true priority.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep in mind that your employee's have to balance their stress just as you do. Don't let it roll down hill as much.
Pros
Wells Fargo is a very well known brand and it really stands out when mentioning companies. The work environment and management was also top notch and the rewards are fair.
Cons
While working as a teller, you are encouraged to push for a lot of sales for new products and opening accounts. It can be stressful at first but once you get the hang of it it's all reflexes
Advice to Senior Management
There really isn't much advice to give as a teller because I understand that you need to push for sales in order to build the business and for their own recognition too.
Pros
It paid better than manual labor, offered decent benefits and helped pad my resume. They also allowed time off for personal reasons (in the beginning.)
Cons
Management at the retail level is pathetic. "Sell stuff to people who don't need it at all, or be prepared to find another job" is the general management style.
Advice to Senior Management
Dear MGMT: You know that the sales goals are ridiculous. You know that people don't need the products you constantly invent.
Pros
They work with your school schedule
Cons
No room for career advancement within the company
Advice to Senior Management
Focus more on recruiting students internally into corporate.
Pros
It is a good place to start off at, I like to do banking there also and the goals are easy.
Cons
Some of the times the store is slow and you still have to meet all of your goals and make calls.
Advice to Senior Management
It is a good place to start off at, I like to do banking there also and the goals are easy.
Pros
Benefits are excellent including medical and 401k. Bank holidays are an added bonus. Managers generally work with your family schedule.
Cons
It's all about sales and goals. Neverending each day, month, and quarter. Repititive job.
Pros
at the location i work at, my manager is absolutely amazing, shes flexible and understanding, the customers are all regulars and my coworkers are more like a family.
Cons
since we're such a busy branch, the sales goals are ridiculous, and sometimes they make us stay open up to 3 hours later on saturdays to get sales
Advice to Senior Management
if there are opportunities to move up at a specific location, please look at the employees at that branch instead of bringing them from elsewhere. it makes it difficult to advance when you are overlooked.
Pros
Not an incredibly difficult job
Cons
People always are looking over your shoulder
Advice to Senior Management
Give more freedom. Stop being so noisy
Pros
Great co-workers. Great benefits package. Great opportunity to network.
Cons
Management usually gave promotions to the butt kissers. Management would tell employees to meet a certain goal to make a promotion but then found excuses to give to it to other employees. Many co-workers complained of disrespectful supervisors. Expects your life to be Wells Fargo and nothing else.
Advice to Senior Management
Promote based on performance not personal relationships. Provide more intensive and on-going training for managers to better communicate and interact with their employees.
Pros
Great benefits, entry level job that could help you advance your career down the road. Great people to work with.
Cons
Very conservative bank and doesn't have investment jobs( that I am interested in) compared to other large banks. From what I have seen, not enough employees and high turnover.
Advice to Senior Management
Most customers come in and see the same Wells Fargo people over and over and they want it to stay that way and don't like people asking for their id's. high turnover makes the customer frustrated . need more incentives for tellers and bankers to stay at the branch they are at. seems highly unlikely as you further your career though and want more money as life changes.
