Pros
The experience you have working for Wells Fargo is based on the branch you work for and also what district you are in. Each branch and district has it's own culture and vibe. For me this is what is true
Amazing team members
I have a cool manager that's laid-back so work is enjoyable and fun for the most part
Team engagement - tellers are very supportive of bankers and branch's goals
Career Advancement and unlimited opportunities to grow
Interaction with all differenct customer base
Great entry-level job as it provides sales, problem-solving, organizational and customer service skills and experience
Cons
Big Ego's
Managers are not very knowledgeable
Bank is open most holidays...YES...WF does not honor all federal holidays
It's hard to get Time-off during the holidays
Compensation structure sucks...you not only have to meet the sales quotas but you have to maintain your numbers until the end of the quarter to get your bonus.
Hard core car sales man enviroment...SALES SALES SALES!!! I feel like the only reason they care about providing good customer service is because they have to...the customers get random calls from Gallop to rate their experience. This makes management paranoid so you are required to memorize a script...for every customer interaction, you are required to say buzz words "made you feel valued", "went out of your way to please", "did things right the first time". These are the same buzz words that are used when the customers get called to complete a survey....Not sure if that's smart or just out right laziness.
Advice to Senior Management
If you are striving to be number 1 in customer service...then start by treating the employees the way you want us to treat the customers. WoW us the employees and it will be automatic that the customers get WoWed as well...This is a guaranteed win win.
Pros
Works well for my schedule and I get benefits.
Cons
Standing and having to deal with customers is a pain.
Advice to Senior Management
Tellers are encouraged to sell, but there is compensation for the teller to recommend a checking account.
Pros
The knowledge base you have available to draw upon proves invaluable. Take the opportunity to work here, but be warned.
Cons
Employees without a bachelor degree or without a degree in the field of Finance or IT are promoted therein.
Advice to Senior Management
Promote those without education in their field of work and they will not procure, mentor or retain those under them.
Pros
the atmosphere and people. Everyone was encouraging and seemed very happy to be there. The manager was also very approachable
Cons
The older working people didn't give much attention to the interns, they focused more on their own work rather than teach the interns.
Advice to Senior Management
It was great! Some great experience for college freshmen or even graduating seniors from High Schools. I definitely recommend this program.
Pros
The benefits and market penetration/reputation of the Bank compared to others.
Cons
highly competitive. If you're not a top producer you should get used to being invisible to management.
Advice to Senior Management
Management needs to get away from only managing by the numbers.
Pros
-Good Benefits
-Close to Home
-Good Solid Stable Bank
-Makes profit in the banking industry
Cons
-Poor Commission/Bonus/Incentive Structure
-Cares too much about business profit
-"Says they care about the customer but doesn't show"
-Salary is a little bit on the shy side.
Advice to Senior Management
-Management is okay.
-Have a great supervisor
Pros
Systems and the resources available.
Cons
No one to support you.
Advice to Senior Management
Very negative managers, district managers, and regional presidents. The customer service piece is very important but management shouldn't be treating employees with disrespect to try and get results in other areas. If people were more positive and supportive this would be a great company to work for.
Pros
always willing to promote you if and a big if you meet your comp
Cons
comp structure isnt very good, if you dont meet your comp structure they threaten to fire you, unless you "script" you will be written up for it
Advice to Senior Management
get rid of scripting and just let the staff be themselves and they will give great service in there own way
Pros
Earnings are strong. Company isnt going anywhere.
Cons
Fees, rates. Expensive to get peple to come over
Pros
Closed on Sundays. Over 20 paid days off (PTO) per year. Nice 401(k) and benefits package. Large well respected company is nice to put on resume.
Cons
Constant micromanaging. Daily expectations demanding. Management encourages selling to customers that do not need/require/want new accounts and products. Expects Personal Bankers to recite a script when speaking to clients.
Advice to Senior Management
The job description of a Personal Banker to assist clients and potential clients to exceed financially, allow the Personal Bankers to do just that.
