Good Benefits
Competitive Pay

good people
Cons
heavy sales pressure
numbers driven
stressful at times
Advice to Senior Management
good managers manage the employees that need help doing their job and let the other ones just do their job. Those that micro manage to their own style can sometimes ruin a good thing.
Pros
Ok benefits package, paid time off, hour lunches, voluntary time off if call volume is low. May meet some great friends.
Cons
Too many supervisors that do not communicate with each other. Favoritizim from upper management. No room for advancement unless you personally know the hiring supervisors. Advancements based on likeability over actual skills needed to do the job. Management does not listen. People don't say anything for fear they will lose their job. If you want to work here don't go through temp service. If a person that gets hired directly come in the door making what they want you will get at least 2 dollars less and have to work twice as hard if you want to get hired on coming from a temp service.
Advice to Senior Management
If customer service is such a vital part is the organizations success, and we are the customers first point of contact, then we should be paid like we are and shown a little bit more appreciation. Since we care so much about keeping our customers in their homes, how about paying us what we are worth so we can keep a home as well.
Pros
The management is great about letting you know ways you can improve and they are always there to help. It is a big team environment and everyone works together to create a positive atmosphere and to promote and sell the services and products.
Cons
Throughout every stage of the interview process, advancement in the company is always mentioned. However, it is a lot more difficult to move to corporate than they like to say initially. The managers may play favorites for promotions, even when not deserved. Also, the pay could use improvement as well.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep providing feedback to employees and working with them to enhance their sales. Gentle guidance goes a lot farther than being harsh with employees.
Pros
good benefits - lots of opportunity
Cons
-applying internally for new opportunities presented no advantage
Pros
Great company to work for if you are self motivated and not afraid of sales goals, they reward you for your performance.
Cons
Banker role can become a daily grind of hitting sales quotas.
Advice to Senior Management
Recognition for a good job done is something that shouldn't go un noticed.
Pros
The pay is good compared to other companies, you gain a lot of experience in a short period of time, if you have a good team or group that you work with, coming to work in the AM is not so bad.
Cons
The company hires during peak times in the mortgage industry and the amount of training you receive is laughable. If you are ok with on the job learning you'll be fine, but many people just aren't prepared for it and end up quitting very quickly. Lots of turnover. If you want to move on or up in the company it is very very very tough.
Advice to Senior Management
Give employees more of a chance to expand and get jobs in other departments of Wells Fargo. There are tons of talented and smart people desperately trying to move up and its seems futile. Better training would also be very helpful
Pros
Great resume builder, excellent finance experience, learning and development opportunities, reputable organization, quality leadership, competitive benefit package, excellent training programs.
Cons
Difficult to move up the ladder. Huge company lacking individual development planning. High turnover due to undefined career path conversations with management.
Advice to Senior Management
Make the organization feel smaller for employees to connect and learn about other areas of the business. Develop leadership succession and talent management strategies.
Pros
Benefits package
Flexible work schedule
Nationwide company
Name recognition
Cons
Cannot talk to underwriting
Never knew when my loans would close
No one knew how to fix process from start to close
Realtors were hesitant working with me per the reputation of Wells Fargo Home Mortgage not closing their loans on time
Advice to Senior Management
Allow your mortgage consultants the opportunity to speak to underwriting.
Pros
Best Insurance for very minimum price
Very good benefits, approximately 30 days paid vacation, holidays and sick pay per year
Cons
No problems that i had when i worked there. Just hated that the contract ended because business slowed down and i was not full time employee
Advice to Senior Management
None
Pros
Lots of time off and encouragement to use it. 401k is great. Lots of internal job postings and encouragement to advance your career within the company. Severence package was great too.
Cons
Fear of layoffs in the mortgage industry. Typical desk job in sad cubicals. I had some really underqualified managers due to the fact they like to hire internally.
Advice to Senior Management
I think overall WF is a great company to work for if you are in the right job for you. There are some great people working there, but like anywhere else, there are some whack-a-doos too.
