I have been working at Wells Fargo as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

I am currently working as a contractor and nearing the end of my contract. The position pays fairly well for the market and I enjoy the environment. I an with Wells Fargo Advisers, specifically focusing on the brokerage division. I would say the overall office environment is a 7 out of 10 and the "hands off" approach I enjoy is a 10 out of 10. As I believe it should be. Proof is in the pudding, if you aren't delivering what is asked for, then we will talk. Otherwise, do what you need to do. Part of this relates to the department being spread between St Louis, Richmond and Charlotte.

    Cons

The downside to "Hands off" is there isn't much "On-boarding." If you need help you may have to ask. Sure we need to know our profession, but day one, I was unsure where the bathrooms were, where I could get a coffee cup, where to get desk supplies. I learned this over time but for an introvert this may be a little difficult.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Probably a little more guidance for on-boarding. If you want new people to help with the workload. Take a step back for a day or two to teach them the ropes. Rather than letting them flounder for weeks.

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Working there gave me some insight on how people manage their finances. It also taught me about the different types of bank products available. Learning to manage large cash drawers is also good experience to have. I enjoyed working with other team members and managers. If you're good at sales and love to sell, promotions will be much faster.

    Cons

Didn't like how aggressive WF is about meeting their sales goals. Your sales goal become higher with promotions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't make sales goals the most important thing about the company.

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Abundant PTO. Job Security. Recognition for a job well done. Decent pay after a certain point. Infinite room for growth if you try and plenty of locations to choose from.

    Cons

No work/life balance: If you are FT you will be here every minute of 40 hours and possibly more; managers always expect you to cut lunches or come in early/stay late and if you don't, you will be scorned for it. There seems to be no labor to account for so if it is slow you Now check credit reports for almost any position other than teller, will not hire/promote if there is ANYTHING negative on your report. There is NO CONSISTENCY in anything: if you call another LOB for help, you will receive 20 different answers with no conclusion.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work to make things more uniform. It is bad for service/business.

    Cons
