ConsNasty customers (but that isn't Wendy's fault)

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't be afraid to make the employees clean.

Hard work can be rewarded, but it's a tough fast food enviorment

    Cashier/Crew (Former Employee)
    Denver, CO

    Proseasy to get hired
    builds resume
    flexible schedules
If you work hard you've got a good shot at getting promoted to a shift leader and shift leaders get pretty good benefits considering it's a position you can achieve before turning 20 if you're good.

Consit's fast food, it's a tough, super high speed environment that not everyone can handle
minimum wage to start (you can get small raises at semi-annual reviews)
the management tries to have a lot of people at each store so that if someone calls out they can find someone to come in and work, but to do that they have to spread the hours out super thin, which ironically causes some people to quit

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't spread your people soo thin, some people are trying to support families and they can't do that if you want to have 50 employees at each store and have everybody work 10 hours a week.

It is a very enjoyable and rewarding company to work for.

    Assistant Manager (Current Employee)
    Toms River, NJ

ProsThe company has great values that it instills in all of the customers and employees. Seeing your regular customers is like a neighbor visiting your home.

ConsSome challenges include attending to the needs of every single customer, because some may get agitated.

A sad monotonous dead end, but okay for short term.

    Crew Member (Current Employee)
    Bushnell, FL

ProsThe hours are really flexible as usual in fast food.

Once you get the hang of it, it's not really hard work, it's mostly the constant standing and monotony that tired you out if anything.

You can usually meet some nice, fun people.

    ConsLow pay
    Low raises
    Monotonous work
    Boring

It's really a dead end for most people. You can get a raise every six months, and of course there is the opportunity to become a manager after a couple years, but when you get right down to it it's just not worth it. Unless you're passionate about working in fast food (seriously, if so, great. Pursue your dream.) don't even.

Very enjoyable to work for if you have the right management staff

    Crew Member (Former Employee)
    Bristol, VA

ProsGet great training on any position if you are willing to
Get half off any item on the menu board any day of the week as long as you worked that day

ConsStart out at minimum wage depending on where you apply at and receive a job; raises could be better.
Sometimes if you're closing drive thru, you are left to do it all: order taker, drinks hand out, sandwiches, grill

Advice to Senior ManagementA LITTLE ADVICE TO MANAGEMENT: Although I never worked in a management position in the 4 1/2 years I worked for Wendy's, I've worked for managers that would walk off position and freely do what they wanted. DON"T WALK OFF POSITION when you are slammed in drive thru and front and your crew needs your help in any and every possible way.

    Shift Supervisor (Current Employee)
    Colorado Springs, CO

ProsEasy position with little extra duties than a crew member.

ConsTakes forever to move up the management ladder

Advice to Senior Managementnarrow down the amount of promotions, the differences in duties and descriptions are rather silly in variance.
