I have been working at Wendy's (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great opportunities, the people you work with become your family, flexible hours for going back to school.Discounts on food.

    Cons

Hard work with not enough pay. No insurance through company. No benefits. Minimum wage. Managing every ego in the place

    Advice to Management

The hardest thing about any management job is that you have to manage every ego in the store to run a good speed of service to maximize profits.

    I worked at Wendy's full-time

    Pros

Great advancement opportunities. Good pay after enough years of service.

    Cons

Wendys corporate is really starting to lose touch with its employees. They continue to cut, yet expect you to be able to do the same things. Current hiring wages and benefits for crew make it very difficult to staff your store. Some of the District and Area managers are unrealistic with their expectations and show very little compassion and care for their managers. Also, they starting finding ways to force certain employees out after they had been around for a long time because of how high their salaries were.

    Advice to Management

Treat your people with more respect and be more realistic with your expectations based on the tools the stores are given. Show some compassion for the people running the stores, considering that THEY are the people making the money, not you!

    I worked at Wendy's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Wendy's was my second job. I really did like working there. I honestly would recommend it to someone if they wanted to find a job and they were hiring.

    Cons

There were some teasing because of my size and it never stopped until I talked to the franchise owner. It could have been better.

    Advice to Management

It could have been better, I might have stayed a little while longer. Or at least I did want to.

I have been working at Wendy's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You learn to build your patience and self control

    Cons

They bust your back for the sad salary You're always being told to do something you already know to do Mgrs get 100+ bonuses while you slave yourself for $8. Your hours will be cut if labor is high which is always...without negotiation, you will be sent home. Mgrs talk behind your back and turn employees on you. They have no hours but keep hiring "back up" employees.

    Advice to Management

They should be more understanding. Fast food gets busy and all they care about is their time. They make one person do everything at once then get mad when you don't do it fast enough.

    I worked at Wendy's full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good job for a starter. Great for customer service experience, and building skills to have patience. Money handling experience. Also good for work experience.

    Cons

When fast food jobs are under staffed it is brutal. Cutting labor is always the main priority. When someone calls off they usually dont call anyone in, and everyone there has to work twice as hard.

    Advice to Management

Treat the employees better, and show appreciation.
