I worked at Wendy's part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Potential for promotion is high. Clean we'll run team and store.

    Cons

Minimum wage pay. Managerial pay is not worth the extra effort. The franchise has been known to lower people's pay below minimum wage

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on raises for employees who show promise.

I have been working at Wendy's part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Learning how to deal with stress from various angles (co-workers, managers and customers). Multi-tasking. Keeping calm and pacing yourself in a fast-paced environment that verges on overwhelming. Once you learn the ropes, it's not that hard. But the first couple of months can be hell.

    Cons

Very little training. You're expected to sink or swim and pretty much figure stuff out for yourself. Not much positive re-affirmation. A lot of back-talk and conflicting directives from higher-ups. If you get scheduled to work on the busier days, that is their way of saying you're competent enough to handle the workload. But don't expect a pay increase for it. Also, your schedule can change on a whim with zero notice, and you're expected to adapt accordingly. In my manager's words, :"When the situation requires it, I stretch myself". Sure, if you're making the kind of money he's making!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your employees what they're worth. I've worked a lot of different jobs, and this is the least I've ever made for such a large amount of work. Also, when someone has done a bang up job, would it kill you to say "You did a good job today," instead of saying "Now just do X Y Z and you can go home for the day" to squeeze another few cents of profit out of them before their day ends. People deserve breaks, and shouldn't have to beg for them. If you're too busy to give everyone a break at some point during the day, then you are short-handed. This should be obvious. And of course it's all about money and payroll costs, but that's a really lame business model to have overworked, underpaid employees who can't count on a 30-minute break each day.

I really enjoyed the people that I worked with and the atmosphere of the group I worked with.

    Cons

This was just a stepping stone for me, I worked there until I moved, I tried employment down in Madisonville, KY briefly but the atmosphere wasn't as nice as in the Princeton store.
